Re: Graunching after replacing front brakes
My drums were new and reskimmed. I am confident the springs are correct. And as the noise is only recent i am putting it down to the shoes. But I'll recheck everything again.

Re: Graunching after replacing front brakes
I fitted mintex shoes and Lockheed cylinders to my grey minor 2 years ago and since last autumn it has developed exactly the same noise as you describe. I intend to remove the front drums again for a check. But as the car isn't going to be out until march theres no panic.

Re: Carb too rich
Screw the mixture nut completely home / upwards. Then screw it down 10-12 flats. The correct mixture is normally not to far from that. But only do this after a good run when engine at a good temperature. Then set the idle speed accordingly.

Re: brake cylinders
They are a replacement for the earlier cars (it says in link description). The pattern cylinders are ok for the rear, but not the fronts

Re: Misfire when warm, recurring problem
Sounds like a points issue or possibly damp inside the distributor cap. I would be starting with checking the points or replace them (with lucas ones)

You can order one from the link below.

Some say it's a bit dear. But as I'm a bit of a minor nerd, i think it's well worth it.

Re: A great 50th birthday for HDM113C
I would from the date it left cowley. Because my dove grey left cowley on 5th of November 1965 for Belfast. But it wasn't registered until april 1966, so it possibly was a showroom car. The heritage certificate tells me the information.

Yes a big coincidence. They both left cowley on the same day. One went to aldershot and one came here to belfast.

Re: Front folding seats in a four door saloon?!
Your door trims look correct for a 61, but I think your seats are from a series 2 or early 1000. Here are the seats in my march 1961 deluxe which I know are correct. The camera makes them look a bit orange [frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1446496996_11801 [/frame][frame] http://mmoc....
