Re: A little shocked
I must admit, I am also shocked, not a little, but very much! Almost 25,000 Pounds for a replica convertible? Ten years ago I bought mine at the same Bristol dealer for exactly half the money, and for that sum I received an almost trouble-free car and ten years of enjoyment. I never wanted an expens...

Re: Buying a traveller
My suggestion for a modification is to fit an electronic ignition. From my own experience I can recommend the 123-ignition, but there are several cheaper ones which will do it as well. An electronic ingnition will avoid any further problems with points etc. as the quality of these parts has decrease...

Re: Petrol can safety
I have read the above posts with great interest and would like to contribute my own experiences. I don't know the situation in Britain, but over here in Germany all types of petrol do contain ethanol. The standard 95 octane petrol (called super) and the 98 or 105 octane fuel (called super plus) cont...

Re: Electronic distributor,is it worthwhile?
I have to agree and disagree to some of the opinions. As you can see from my first post, I have experience with three sorts of ignitions in my Moggy. And I agree, there has been no difference at all regarding the power or Maximum speed of the car. However there are differences which I would like to ...

Re: Electronic distributor,is it worthwhile?
Simple answer: "YES". The quality of points has become miserable, and new old stock ist hard to trace. I had a relatively cheap electronic ignition (working with a hall sensor) installed in my distributor in 2011 and was quite satisfied - until last year. An electronic fault in the ignitio...

My fourth and fifth year with Maggie (with photos)
Hello all, A very happy New Year to all Moggy drivers and their families and many happy moments with these wonderful old cars! Thank you to all those of you who have taken interest in the first three parts of the story, which are here: http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=38596 http://www....

Re: Starting handle how to?
I've just noticed my Moggy has a hole in the front bumper for a starting handle....only the second car I've ever owned with the this feature, the first being a 2CV. By the way, many French post war cars did offer the possibility to get them started with a handle. I remember the Renault 4 and 16 and...

Re: Winter's a coming...
Although my garage is a fairly new build and well insulated, it is inevitable to get moisture inside. But I have made very good expericnce with dehumidifier granules like these ones http://www.homecareessentials.co.uk/acatalog/Moisture_Absorbers.html They have been on sale quite cheaply at the Germa...

Re: Mot
The above postings show me that MOT testing in Britain can be as complicated as it is over here. It's got nothing to do with the first question, but I'd like to tell my story. Over here we can have a car which is older than 30 years inspected and certified as a historic vehicle (obtaining a registra...

Re: Fuel pumps
I have the German made "Hardi" electronic fuel pump, it has been on for about 4 years now and has not let me down. I have it mounted on two rubber mounts, the same way Declan has mounted his Hardi pump. It makes a huge difference with the noise of the ticking. I also recently converted my...

?Regalia not found?
I have a question concerning the club's regalia. As the post of a regalia officer is vacant, I will post my question here and hope someone responsible will post an answer. In some of the last editions of Minor Matters there were offers of a Morris Minor wall clock and a Morris Minor jigsaw puzzle. I...

Re: Where are these seats from please?
The base of the seat definitely Looks like a Morris Minor passenger seat. I would suggest it has received a new seat cover. Charles Ware offers a similar style of seat covers when they restore a Minor. Mine has the following: http://www.morrisminor.org.uk/images/stories/website_content/restoration_p...

No, I don't think so. It looked like it had a thick coat of plaster and a few layers of paint on it.stag36587 wrote:

Don’t you know this feeling? As an owner of a classic car you always keep your eyes open to detect other classic cars in traffic and a digital camera is in your pocket to capture these rare vehicles. I must admit, I can’t stop doing this even when we are on holiday. Quite recently we spent a holiday...

Hello all, If you ever happen to come to Berlin, on a business trip or for a holiday, make sure you spare a few hours and take a look at the Classic Remise. Never heard of? Well, I hadn’t until I got there by chance a fortnight ago, and I can tell you it is well worth a visit! Imagine a large old tr...

its good to hear spome good news from them :D :D May I join in and state, that I am a satisfied customer, too? I bought my 1969 replica convertible in 2010. The purchase went very smoothly, and the restoration was 98 % of what we had negotiated before (it only turned out later, that a welded seam i...
