Re: Sale of Logbooks

All we can do is record them, interestingly how some vendors ALSO hide the registrations, not just the chassis numbers....so why would anyone buy a rf60 with NO idea of the regn..as for "Uncancelled",
just plain dodgy to me!!

Re: Sale of Logbooks

Anyhow, I'll give it a go, SO much scope for vehicle theft if all some basket has to do is buy a £20 logbook off ebay & pinch a vehicle. Additional problem being DVLA place more importance on "documentation" than it does on actual evidence that the vehicle IS what it proports to be....ie alarm bell'...

Re: E-bay Scammers

Re: Heritage certificate

Contact them, point out the error & they'll issue a correct one.
Check the colour of the sump, should be red on a March '57 engine, designation likely APJM, not 9M.

Hope this helps.

Any nearer getting the booklet out, Chris?
Yes, Kev has kindly printed out our entire database - 170 odd pages of it - plus a draft of the booklet to amend & check for errors, WILL include LCVs as best I can.

Keep you posted as & when, lots going on with family health woes atm..

Re: NMP Plate

For each bodyshell, allocated a code by NMP, differing on each varient.

This code defines age/model, if, for example it were "Z31234" it would be a 1962 Minor.

The BODY number - the set of nos. to the right - whittles the build date to within 2mths.

Believe me, it's quite a simple system.

OK ..so how is it de-coded? I get '54' for year, or even '4' for 4-door in there (but not both at the same time, of course), but I don't get the significance of all the numbers....
Do I have your car's details?

Over 150 body codes used.
