Re: Pick up seats

I think you will find that the rear legs are shorter for the LCVs. This is my understanding: The saloons have a floor that dips to the rear seat footwell. The LCVs have flat foors, so their rear legs need to be shorter or the seats would be too erect. Here in Oz, all LCVs were fitted with bench sea...

Plug you phone into the pc should be able to download all

Number ranges for Abingdon
Thanks Russ.

According to all these Minor publications, only 50 pickups assembled at Abingdon, yet 10 still exist, doesn't make much sense!!

Re: Adderley Park Number details needed

Currently selecting images - sadly no Abingdon chassis plates to illustrate - but getting there slowly. As stated previously, had hoped to put bodyshell codes into month/year range, ie via the Z12345 nos. can determine vehicle approx age. Though it DOES appear bodyshell codes ran alongside each othe...

Re: Adderley Park Number details needed

I don’t know what’s put you off Chris, there’s a lot of interest in your work. If you do decide to stop, fair enough. There must be enough information gathered by now to be released in booklet form, with any future additions taking the form of supplements, if you do decide to carry on. A booklet re...

Re: Adderley Park Number details needed

Chris, what’s the current estimated arrival time of the much anticipated booklet ? It’s all gone a bit quiet! Les Lots of personal stuff going on atm. Ler's face it, what's the point of producing a booklet only I find of interest. I appreciate Mr.F's enthusiasm, but, in reality, I'm hitting my head ...

Adderley Park Number details needed

Minor LCVs As most of you know, I've undertaken the task of making sense of Minor's assembled at Adderley Park. Quite a lot of progress has been made, however, many more details are required. I don't need registration numbers - nor last 2 digits of chassis number - I DO need the vehicle model, its' ...

Re: Austin Pick up 1972

Hi POMMReg, thank you for the response, what did you mean by weights more important? Only reference I can find to on the log book is 746.1 KG unladen. Also not sure what is meant by Pea green chassis plate. Regards, john. It's an Austin 6cwt pick up. The pea green, wishy washy blue coloured thing i...

Re: Austin Pick up 1972

Not unusual to have V prefix on pickups, weights more important, put it down to many more van vin plates available during production.

Can do the spare wheel bkt captive nuts check, if threads painted = genuine pick up.

Pea green BL chassis plate?

Re: Sale of Logbooks

E-mail back from the Transpoet Minister's office, have NO control over sale of old logbooks, however, those advertised WITH a current v5c lockbooks can be voided, ie; reasoning behind regns often obscured.

Re: 270UYJ

My "database" doesn't contain owners' details, simply model/vin, and, where poss. original owner, engine/body/g'box/r'axle nos. DoFR & triplex/lucas dates. Obviously, armed with this info, it will make it MUCH more difficult for the criminal fraternity IF prospective buyers discover "numbers" of the ...

Re: 270UYJ

Engine is Nov/Dec 1968....IF "B" error for "3", if error for "2", mid 1967.

MA-U-L is either Minor LCV or Police panda.

Production of this unit - having spent over 30yrs of number collecting - none higher than 370k.

Therefore, engine replaced an 803cc APHM unit.

Re: Could this Morris 1000 (64) be used?

Worcestershire index mark "FAB" used 9/61 & 2/65, if vehicle is on a C plate, would make it a very late '64.
Chassis stamped into the b/head, BMHT will, for a fee, issue a Heritage Certificate based on this number.

Check the DVLA site to see whether vehicle is on there.
