Re: How to get my new Grease Gun Pumping?

Thanks all - Not sure its high tech enough to have a bleeding valve, but I'll take the tube off and try and get it to pump the grease.

How to get my new Grease Gun Pumping?

Finally, after many years loyal service, my old grease gun packed up and lost its 'spring'. Not so good if you need to get it to work! I've got a new one and its all loaded with lovely grease, and has spring, however I just can't get it to pump the stuff out the end. The handle feels like is offerin...

Bringing an old thread back to life but I've got to try this tomorrow without a ball joint splitter! How does the hammer trick work?

Re: Rear Arch Replacement Cost

Thanks all, This will be one for the new year. I was planning on exposing the 'damage' but only when I know I have the funds to fix it should it be bad! I'm putting 700 aside for the worst case and hoping that will cover it. I have no welding experience so this one is going to be for the garage. Hap...

Re: intermittant rapid whirring noise whilst driving

Thanks all - I have checked the belt and it's loose (easily spins without turning anything). I hope this is it! the noise sounds almost like its coming from behind the speedo but i'll change and tighten the belt and see if it fixes the problem. It can't have been causing to many problems and the ign...

Re: intermittant rapid whirring noise whilst driving

Its certainly not a squel.. nothing ear piecing of chalk on balckboard about it. Its closer to the interferance noise on a TV, and not even alarmingly loud! I wouldn't worry but this noise is certainly different to the usual noise. Sorry i can't explaing any clearer. Could this still be the thrust b...

intermittant rapid whirring noise whilst driving

Hi all, For the last fortnight the moggy has made a short but very noticable whirring/shhing noise (I thought it was static on the radio the first few times) for a period of about five second whilst driving. It seems to come from the engine bay or forward of the driving seat, but its hard to pinpoin...

Re: Rear Arch Replacement Cost

Hopefully these pics show the problem.. aside from the need to wash the mud off, hopefully you can see the bubbling. The blueish splodge was a quick wipe over with krust! The bead has been painted over, and doesn't have the same definition as the bead on the other side. I'm not sure ho messy this on...

Rear Arch Replacement Cost

Hi all, I'm finally able to spend some money getting a bit of house keeping done on the moggy - namely the passenger side rear wheel arch seam which seems to be a filler hot spot. Over the last year I noticed some rust staining coming through around the seam towardds the front and some bubbled paint...

Re: Cuts out

Our moggy began cutting out on the motorway for second bursts on friday (this happened once before, but not as badly). Finally got a lift home on a pick up. The annoying thing was up to fifty everything was fine, then bang! Guy on the pick up truck drove it onto the back of his ramps no worries, got...

Re: Stuck Gear Sump Plug

Well the stetson tighten, but I just can't get the grip and without getting the car on ramps it's a no hoper. I've sadly given up and booked her into a garage. Hopefully once on the ramps its an easy job. New sump plug is on stand by! Thanks for all the help through.

Stuck Gear Sump Plug

Hi all, The gear box sump plug is well and truly stuck, and the nuts become fairly rounded so grips becoming difficult. My last resort attempt will be tonight - I have borrow one of the those special spanners which will clamp the nut and dig its teeth in (sorry - completely forgotten the technical t...

Thanks everyone.. I think all the powers working, so two new halogen headlamps have been ordered. Considering how much we drive at night they'll be a blessing!

Re: dip beams both gone, but everything elsewors

thanks everyone.. lots of bulb swapping has occured with the result that only the nearside low beam is out (If only my spare bulb hadn't also been blown it would have taken alot less time than it did to work it all out!). Def time to get a volt meter and halogens. Is the halogen upgrade just a strai...

dip beams both gone, but everything elsewors

Just got the baby strapped in and ready to go home and bang.. engine starts no problems, cabin lights on, wipers working, dip beam on.. dip beam off.. no more dip beam on either side. everything else still works and the fuses are in and alright. any takers - i'm guessing a power surge took the filam...

Brake Adjustment

Hi All, Planning to tighten up my break tomorrow and just wanted to check the method. New brake linings were installed in feb and now they've bedded in nicely, but also made my brake peddal alittle less twitchy. I'm not worries about the brake system as I can still lock the brakes and have a fair bi...
