Re: Traveller Lower Hinge Bolt Heads

Hi Redduster, As Simmitc says, but as I found when I replaced my door posts a couple of years back, the bolt heads were recessed into the timber behind the metalwork. Once I'd got the rest back together, I drilled through the whole lot and fitted longer bolts. I know some will hold their heads in th...

Re: Valve collett spring clips

Ahh. Thank you for such a quick response. I'll chuck them in the beehive spring box. Does this mean that the days I spent refitting the beehive springs was unneccessary?
Thanks again.

Valve collett spring clips

Morning all. I have at last a question! I decided to check the valve rocker clearance yesterday on my '69 traveller. Took off the rocker cover, and gave it all a good dose of looking at. All four inlet valve collett spring clips were laying on top of the head. The four exhaust valve clips are in pla...

Re: Newbie with sticky windows.

Hi Vic, and welcome to the wonderful world of quirky cars! I had a similar issue with my '69 traveller a couple of years back, not long after i bought her. After much effort and lubricant of various makes I decided to look deeper. A previous owner had inserted a strip of hardboard along the top of t...

Re: NORTH WALES CLUB

Ah-ha. And we were thinking the white traveller in the works car park may have been yours Matt. We'll have to find out who's it is. Ours is almond green, and hiding in the garage. We live in Penrhyndeudraeth, so as I say about an hour and a half from St. Asaph and 50ish miles. Were you out in your c...

Re: NORTH WALES CLUB

Hi Wesr90,

Where abouts are you in North Wales? I must admit to not having anything to do with the local branch, St Asaph is a good hour and a half away from me.

Cheers,

Phil.

The guard is the man
Who sits in the van
Right at the back of the train
The driver up front
Thinks the guard is a little late,
Or something like that!

All a bit broad gauge for me.

Re: Traveller rear doors

Hi Emma, Rear doors come up occasionally on fleabay. I think there are a couple on at the moment. To my mind you take a bit of a chance on the quality, but as they say, you pays your money and take the risk. If nothing else you should have some decent old timber to repair your own doors. I hope it g...

Re: Morris Eight or Ford Model Y

Hi Audrey,

It's just a wild guess, but I think I know what the answer may be.
Possibly the opposite to that that you would get to the same question on the Ford site!

Hee hee.

Re: any members in mid wales

Matt, would you be working on un-building a certain former power station? I can't imagine another reason for such a long commute to nowhere. My better half is the EPE on the site, and doesn't know of a moggie on site. You obviously don't commute in a proper car!

Cheers, Phil

Oops, Hope you're ok. It makes you jump, doesn't it? Have you a spare screen, are you insured for this? Perhaps now's a good time to have a windscreen fitting experience.
All the best,

Re: Removing exterior door handles.

Hi Steve, Sorry to say it, but you're right. I changed the locks on my 69 Traveller last year and had to undo the door top and release the window channel that's in the way. I did manage to jiggle the offending bit out of the way without taking the glass out. Hope this helps, even though it's not the...

Re: Outdoor car cover for a Traveller

Hi Pat, There a some previous threads on car covers which are all worth reading. I have a 1969 Traveller which is currently hiding out the back of the house under a Stormforce cover. We found it through an E-Bay store. I think it was only around the 175-200 quid mark. While it's made to fit a Travel...

Re: Dutone newton commercial seats

Hey Ben, Lovely looking seat there. And in leather too, or should it be described as faux vinyl? I treated myself to a pair of front seats for my traveller earlier this year from Newtons. Very comfortable too. A couple of points I would be so bold to make would be to leave the seat frame at the slig...

To be honest Ben, are the looks that important? Are you going to refuse an offer like that? I think it will look fantastic.
Go for it, and buy him a bottle of his favourite!

Re: Van for day to day use

I'd say go for it. Get it properly signwritten though. The modern plastic stickers or magnetic backed ones just won't look right. It'll be something that sticks in peoples minds, which is just what you want to advertise.

Good luck,

Phil.
