Morris minor steering column with column mounted switch

I have just got hold of a Morris minor steering column with column mounted switch and steering lock and I want to fit it to my 1971 2 door minor. Do I just run the wires from my old switch or is there more to it than just that. Will the pin numbers be the same on both switches? :)
