Re: Self stirring left and right

Get an MOT from a classic friendly garage. Well worth the money, and they’ll put you right. You can’t mess around with dodgy steering or brakes.

I’m told that van rims are good for taking 165 tyres. Well, that’s what I’ve been using for the past ten years, after advice on here. The car sits well on them.

Re: HT lead routing and spark plug connectors

Hmm...originality. I suspect that cars of that era didn’t come out of the factory as identical as modern cars. Bits that they had to hand got used.
There are some really puzzling cars in the baby Austin world, with some very odd A30/A35 hybrids.

They make car washing a pain. Unless you take it off every time...
Like all the stuff that was on my old Landy when I got it! I’ve kept the ladder as it’s useful when the roof needs a clean. Otherwise decluttered.

Re: Thinking about the future (classic car to replace modernish campervan)

We’re in Derbyshire. You’re very welcome to come and have a look at our cars. They’re not for sale but might give you an idea whether a Minor would suit you. We’ve got a saloon and a modified (1275) Trav.

Remember that these cars were built to an affordable price! All the desirable extras would have made them too expensive for their market. Most families in those days struggled to buy a couple of bikes!

Once in a while I toy with the idea of getting a phone with a camera, then I think no,my wife loves doing things like that. No point in having a dog and doing your own barking

Bubble car museum

Anyone been? We’re on holiday in Lincolnshire next week, but the wrong end of the county and wondered if it was worth an hour trip ( and if they are dog friendly).

Sadly, a small proportion of people make their living from robbing others. It’s always been the case. A century ago they would have been pickpockets. Two centuries ago highwaymen. Whatever they are called it’s disgraceful!
