It won’t be ‘dead’...just a bit poorly. If you’re not confident about auto electrics get someone to check it out for you

Re: Minor insurance

It’s a bit ridiculous,that...obviously crash damaged parts can’t be allowed back into the market, but lots of rare and useful stuff is being wasted.

I think that the mock eye spots are to make it look like a snake, to deter predators. Nature is quite amazing.

Good ones are like rocking horse manure. Projects are rare and expensive. Supply and demand?

The OP hasn't mentioned the age of his Minor, or if it is Positive/Negative earth, or was + but is now -ve. See my post from May about my problems regarding sparks... https://www.mmoc.org.uk/Messageboard/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=70183 He says that it’s positive earth and wonders if he’s done any harm t...

Until the whole lot eventually went up in flames? :o

Re: New member...

Could be lots of things, but likely very simple. Get the battery charged. Then check the fuel pump is working when you turn the ignition on. It should tick quite audibly. No ticking, try a gentle tap on the fuel pump. If she still doesn’t start report back and there are lots of other easy things to tr...

Re: Recommended Morris Specialist in the Peak District area

The Morris Minor Millennium Co. in Manchester may be your nearest specialist. They seem to get good reviews. There may well be local garages quite capable of doing the upgrades. I used to go to Sam Furness in Tansley when we lived near Matlock, he always did a good job and didn’t overcharge. Even us...

Re: trafficators sticking.

A nice little local garage would sort it for you,and it really shouldn’t cost much. An hour or two at the most. But it’s fun to have a go yourself and if it goes pear shaped the garage will still sort it.

Yes, a love it or hate it colour. It may limit interest if you ever come to sell it, but who knows! My trav is maroon B, and I was warned that it may fade but ten years on it’s still looking fresh. Modern paint ,I suppose.

Re: ''Mind the gap''.....at rear of front wing.

I don’t think there is such a thing as ‘rustproofing ‘ a Minor , but mine were cavity wax injected , the undersides sorted, hammerited and waxoyled to within an inch of their life. Since when they go out in all weathers except when there is salt on the road. They live indoors and are still completely...

Re: trafficators sticking.

Trafficators are pretty easy to remove, clean and lubricate. It’s probably just accumulated muck and oil that’s built up over the years. Once you’ve got them cleaned up it’s best to go light on the oil. I just used a drop or two of sewing machine oil and they’ve been trouble free for years.

Re: Hello, New MMOC Member

Ten years ago I treated myself to rebuilt Traveller from Charles Ware. It’s been fabulous, and I got the spec that I wanted...1275 engine,5 speed box etc. But it was expensive and has depreciated somewhat. I’m not bothered as it’s used almost daily and it’s a keeper. One like mine would now cost near...

Does anyone remember drinking Camp ‘coffee’?
Like a syrup with coffee and chicory. Truly foul. My grandfather loved it and insisted that his grandchildren drank it.
We used to pour it into his flowerpots when he was looking the other way

Get an MOT from a classic friendly garage. Well worth the money, and they’ll put you right. You can’t mess around with dodgy steering or brakes.
