There’s a lot of ex-bobbys interested in, and running Minors
Saw a clip on the tv recently of some low life in a stolen Minor giving the police a problem... West Yorkshire I think?

Re: new member
Welcome, and all the very best for your new project. I’m sure it’ll bring you much enjoyment and satisfaction. Perhaps peppered with a little frustration now and then  I’m a new member too. I collect what will be my ‘61 two door saloon on Saturday. What part of the country are you in? Glad th...

Re: Authenticity of Vehicles
As years go on, it becomes increasingly difficult to confirm originality/authenticity. Over the past 50+ years generations of people have done work to these cars, some good and some not so good. In the absence of definitive information I think the best course is to ensure that a car is sound and hon...

Re: Wiring trafficators and indicator lights
I suggest that you get the flashers and trafficators to work separately.
Put the trafficators on a classic teardrop switch, so you can use them for fun, shows etc.
When they are wired to work together they are very prone to get snapped off!! Ask me how I know

Recently had to put a new battery on a 2010 Tiguan, just as simple as changing a Minor battery. And the radio didn’t pack up either...

I agree with Megan. Osmo is the best that I have used, by far.

Re: Flasher Unit again
I have a couple of minor flasher cans in my spares box and one is larger than the other! The larger one appears to be more substantially made.

Yes, the Minor is a better car to drive, but the B****e is a lot of fun and the chrome is better quality.ManyMinors wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 11:58 am As Steve's a "regular" we make allowances . Also, I think driving a Beetle makes him appreciate how good a car a Minor is

Re: Bodges
As a student, back in the early ‘70’s, a few friends and I bought a Minor. There were big holes in the floor. We liberated lot of old beer cans from the back of the union bar, flattened them, riveted them together and stuck them to the floor. A bit of carpet and a lick of under seal. Mot wasn’t a pr...

I would think that the battery is under warranty. Our local ‘battery shop’ will test for free and replace if faulty.

Re: Electronic ignition
The electronic ignition on my two Minors has been faultless for years. The exact same system on my Austin has been a nightmare, and I’ve gone back to points and condenser.

Lovely looking Mini! My first car was a 1971 mini 1000 in Harvest Gold.
Amazing what could be achieved in a Mini when one is young and flexible. Happy days
