Re: White 1000 Traveller - FYY 809J
Well, almost seven years since I posted the original shout and, sadly, I'm no nearer finding my first car - FYY 809J - a 1971 Snowberry White Traveller. I know it's a bit obsessive but I just have a strong feeling that the car IS still out there - somewhere. If anyone knows - or thinks they know - w...

Re: White 1000 Traveller - FYY 809J
Many thanks for that. The DVLA database suggests that it has not been exported as there is no export marker listed but you never know how these things work. Thanks also for the add on your forums too. Every little helps

Re: White 1000 Traveller - FYY 809J
Well, it's been a while since I was on here - have been a bit distracted with a John O'Groats to Lands End Charity Marathon for the last eighteen months :-). Now that's over, and the car has now gone to its new owners, I thought I'd share this one again in case there are any new forum members who ma...

think it was this one :-( Re: Growling Traveller New post by bmcecosse » Tue Oct 04, 2016 10:20 am Don't put 'gear oil' in the gearbox - it rots away the brass/bronze bits. As Phil says - likely to be the crownwheel/pinion and NOT the 'diff'unless it only happens on cornering? Perhaps a an oil chang...

Re: Vale: Roy Allingham (BMCecosse)
Hi Folks, Ray Newell, Secretary of the MMOC sent the following message to Roy's widow on Monday: Can I, on behalf of the MMOC, pass on to you our sincere condolences on the recent passing of your husband, Roy. As you already know, Roy was a prolific poster on the MMOC Forum, as well as other fora. O...

Re: MMOC 40th Anniversary Charity Marathon
Very pleased to report that at just after 4.00pm on Saturday October 1st, the Charity Marathon car rolled over the finish line to complete 3,506 mile trip without any major (or minor) mishaps. The car has performed faultlessly throughout the whole event and although we have undertaken a small amount...

Re: Please What is this Model & Year
In the first photograph, the car appears to be an early 50's Series MM convertible. The bumper/buffer is from a 1000 though because the over riders are in the wrong place. On the Series MM/early Series 2, the bumper was narrower so the over riders didn't obscure the side lights. The last photo is a ...

Thanks Cam. Please feel free to share this as much as you wish with your own social networks. The more people we can encourage to support the marathon the more money we can raise for Marie Curie. Help us spread the word as widely as we can. Any donations you or your friends can make will be very wel...

Re: National Rally photos
You won't often see 2 AJOs together :) Pure luck as I came out of the campsite I found myself following 122 AJO, which has just being let in at rally control, up the rally field and was able to park alongside with 831 AJO. 122 AJO is the prototype 1000 convertible - quite a unique car as there are ...

Re: BMC Main Agents
According to the BMIHT certificate I have recently acquired for my Morris Traveller, it was sent to a BMC Glasgow agent, A and D Fraser, in November, 1965. I realise that this business probably no longer exists, but does anyone have any information about it when it was operating and what became of ...
