Re: replacing engine steady bar
Spare half hour and managed to remove the bar but it ruined the end of the thread on one half. Have shortened the thread length on both halves to make re-assembly possible and ordered new rubbers and cup washers. Think will leave bracket on head as is as looking at lots of engine bays just as many h...

replacing engine steady bar
Hi, I want to replace the rubbers on my standard engine steady bar. I am worried that I have to undo one head nut to remove bracket from engine. If I just undo one head nut do I risk head issues as usualy they are all slackened off in a set order?

Re: Died on me, now iregular running
Will do, thank you for the advice. While in the mood going to flush the cooling system and then do some test runs with new and old rotor in place. I feel sure it was the condenser at fault. Think Morris was feeling neglected due to purchase of a new project and needed to remind me he is still here!!

Died on me, now iregular running
Ideas please, sure you have herd it all before. 1098cc 1970 car has always gone like a dream for 8 years, admitt short runs now and again. Did 30 miles no probs, next day did 15 miles and on way home started to splutter then backfired then died, came back to life after a few minutes, ran a bit then ...

Re: Engine breathing
Forgot to report I have connected the breather pipe from the canister to the side of the carb and it seems to have stopped the slight oil drip totaly. Car seems happy, have just driven to Devon and back so will leave as set up.
Thanks for all your advise.

Re: Drivers Arm Rest
Heaven forbid I should upset the great man. Always have both hands on the wheel and never use the radio as engine noise makes it impossible to hear anyway. It was just a thought but too scared now to tamper with his masterpiece and would not want to take the originality away. I seem to remember my M...

Re: Drivers Arm Rest
Good thinking, thank you. Would need to drill through to door structure and tap into that. Just thinking they would be good for long drives.

Re: How Far have you driven?
Seems like we do get about a bit! Very interesting how other road users treat us. I tend to stay on the side roads and where possible will pull in to let a build up of traffic pass. Most road users seem to be happy to see Morris and many leave a good distance behind but there are always some who dri...

How Far have you driven?
We all know these little cars are made of strong stuff and built to last. I have just made a little jaunt down to the west country and back and it has done the Morris the world of good. No issues during the 360 mile trip, no oil used, no water loss, everything as it should be. Even those steep Devon...

Torsion adjustment
Hi, I know there are hundreds of threads on torsion bars but can I ask a simple question. I want to adjust the ride height a small amount on the near side. If I put the front end on stands and jack up under the suspension can I take out the bolt and move it to a lower hole in the plate? I know each ...
