Re: National Rally photos
KIT CAR!!!!! KIT CAR? that's offensive and insulting! there is absolutely nothing KIT about it! it did not come in boxes with written instructions like ikea! or dutton, So if it's not a morris minor as stated on the V5C what is it? Legally and for all intents and purposes it started out as a ...

Re: National Rally photos
preservation is for museums, I don't see myself as a dusty old cobweb covered museum attendant, I'm alive, I have my own individuality and personality, I build a car to stand out, to say "look at me, I'm no sheep" and with regard to events, the majority of the public will come to see the i...

Re: National Rally photos
Quote (Yes, that might be true, but isnt the Morris Motor club about preservation, as the club says in its motto?) If it's all about preservation and that's what the public want to see they should go to a museum, it's indoors so it doesn't rain, I don't see the law that says it's bad to change thing...

Re: Advice needed on vibrating clutch.
it's not but I put it on to show the basic components and how it works, they're fundamentally the same, what I was getting at was if the throwout lever is only attached on one side correctly and the other side is either off or not in the groove that would cause the pressure plate to disengage uneven...

Maybe one of the contact pins on the throwout lever is either broken off or not correctly fitted

Re: radically modified
I checked with the dvla and they looked at photographs, because the monocoque is effectively in tact and the modifications only improve the strength, other mods like brakes etc are safety improvements they were happy to make the document changes and they issued an age related plate after I'd put it ...

Re: radically modified
I've seen the first one before, nice job, the current one is going to be quite quick I imagine, my idea was to go for the style isigonis wanted in the first place, he wanted the minor to be front wheel drive and if he'd been around now obviously it'd be modern practical engine and not the A series s...

Re: radically modified
It's more about being a practical car and the concept rather than a V8, that's been done many times, this is a completely original format. It cruises at 70mph and does about 50mpg, was sat along side a V8 at a show last year and mine grabbed all the attention.

Re: FITTING VAUXHALL ASTRA ENGINE,BOX AXLES TO A MOGGIE
Getting back to the matter in hand, vauxhall fwd unit into a minor? yes it can be done, I used a peugeot 1500 diesel but there's a lot of work involved, the dvla are only interested in safety so you have to make sure it is of a very solid construction, there are 3 ways, 1 you can retain the rwd by u...

Re: radically modified
As you can see, the complete shell has been used except the floor, a new floor has been fabricated with rails in a similar style except this is a full rolling (self supporting) chassis, you can see the fitting for the lower suspension arms (A frames) these are new early renault clio units. The McPhe...

This is my 1951 2 door short bonnet series MM the differences are it is front wheel drive, 1500cc diesel, 5 speed, independent suspension and servo assisted dual circuit brakes, disc front and drum rear, this is all my own work and design. This is one of my projects as an individual, I have a couple...

Re: FITTING VAUXHALL ASTRA ENGINE,BOX AXLES TO A MOGGIE
may i ask why you are going down the astra route? if it is because you have a good one sitting in a bent / rusted out astra and are looking to save some money the cost of all the parts and modifications may far out weight the cost of buying a new engine. as for Q plate it would appear to be a bit o...
