Re: Cast clamp

The problem with both the cast clamp and the pressed up version I found was the hole size is to suit the manifold diameter where as the exhaust pipe is a lot smaller so it only grips on a small part of the exhaust pipe cone,I finished up making my own clamp from a piece of mild steel bar and turned ...

Re: Steering - Oil or Grease?

I have taken out my rack from my series 2 which is really easy and does not even need the front wheels to be removed , as I said when I did mine I placed the rack vertical in the vice and pumped EP90 into it from lock to lock I then pumped in some grease to hopefully seal in some of the EP90 ,I then...

Re: Timing chain tensioners

As said in the posts on this subject above I recently fitted a tensioner kit to my car the timing cover took some finding also I was told that the pin is no longer made so I machined my own , it is also a lot easier to check the timing on the tensioner cover than the old version

Re: Radiator fan shield

Thanks for the advice I tend to agree about leaving it off but I also think I will renew the yellow paint as more of a reminder on the fan blade so as I don't get too close to the rotating fan blade
