Re: Horn earth wire.

Mr. Johnson, I copied this explanation of how the horn works which should really help you. The wire that goes down into the steering column is only a couple inches long and pokes out a hole that contacts the underside of the castellated copper slip ring. Unfortunately, this site won’t let me upload ...

No numbers that I can see. There is a small triangle above the 9 o’clock bolt barely visible in the picture.

Rear axle diff identify

I had posted a few weeks ago about the rear end/differential on my 67 Traveller. The PO said it was from a Marina, but my mechanic says it is from a Nissan. I now have it back and here are some pictures. Can anyone please help me ID this.

It’s been awhile since I removed mine, but if memory serves, just push in this button and the lock lever should come out. Red arrow points to button.

Re: Wheel and hubcap ID

Phil, I didn’t perceive any noise that I would have said, oh oh the diff has an issue, but I was hearing noise that I thought was just road noise.
Don, I did not know about the B310. Good to know. Thanks!

Re: Wheel and hubcap ID

Steve, the wheels are 13 inch, and I believe they are Marina and the hubcaps too, but the mechanic telling me he thought they were Nissan threw me for a loop. I had taken it to him to repair a broken clutch bracket, which he did, and he told me the differential sounded like it was on its way out, so...

Re: Wheel and hubcap ID

Thanks, Phil. Very helpful. The car is in for some rust repair and won’t be back to me for a couple of weeks. I’ll post a photo of the axle when I get it back.

Wheel and hubcap ID

My Trav was featured in Minor Monthly March 2007. The article states the wheels are from an Ital and the rear axle is from a Marina. Dave Glen of Dundee was the owner. I just took my Trav in for a repair, (LA area British car specialist shop) and the mechanic tells me the wheels are from a Nissan an...

Re: Ignition

with the key in the on position, I can push down on the black button located between the solenoid’s terminals to start my car. Manual override if you will. You might push on this button a few times to see if that loosens it up. It could be the solenoid’s internals is going bad and replacement is the...

Re: Starter solenoid on the way out?

I think the redundant solenoid is the one on the bulkhead, I.e. it has been disabled and the one on the starter motor is the one being used. I have a gear reduction starter (Izusu) I installed and went the other way, disabled the solenoid on the starter and use the one on the bulkhead. The tell is T...

Re: Traveller rear door seals

Mine has the rubber quadrant seals on left and right frame, bottom frame and left door, with the foam rubber from Ware across the top frame. Here is a picture of the top of the left door which has a metal plate and the rubber wraps over the top and an inch or so on the inside, cut flat where it wrap...

You’re welcome, Seth. BTW, I noticed the red horn push crazing, and I have read that soaking it over night in olive oil will make the cracks almost disappear.

From looking at the Newton Commercial website, those seats are the later series 2 seats. Have a look:

Re: Traveller rear number plate backing plate

I looked at my plate on my Trav and it has the curved edges just like the one in the picture. The center section of the bumper mounting bar is bent outwards in the middle. So the curved edges of the plate fit as the plate is longer than this bend area allowing it to be fixed tightly to the bar.
