Re: Line on MM Wheels

You can buy or hire line painting pens as used on traction engines and railway engines and tenders. Use with a block of wood as a steady, it's easy. You may have to thin the paint slightly.

I have looked in some of my 50s and 60s motor magazine correspondence columns and don't see any complaints about this fuel regardin...

I must confess I put the gearbox in and jack it up then see which way is best fit without the fan chopping lumps out of the radiator! 8) I will have a look underneath tomorrow.

Graham Hill used to drive an A30/35 in saloon car events and they always beat the Moggies due to smaller cross sectional area and lighter weight I think.

Like Phil, I am still using the Britool socket set I bought when I was a marine eng. apprentice in 1955, although a few have been replaced and I am on my 3rd ratchet! It is funny in some respects as Doxford engines are metric sizes for bore and stroke all the nuts and bolts were made in our works an...

Re: glovebox clock dial

May be meths will do it. It is usually laquer on coil wires. I have been looking for a dial also as I have a black faced wind up Smiths clock in the hole at the moment while the metal glove box motif is being repainted. It is the same diameter as the white dial.

Re: Tunnel alteration

I modified my series MM about 20 years ago and cut 1&1/2" from the floor. When I converted it back to side valve I just welded the piece back in. I had changed the cross member for the gear box also the propshaft and rear axle. The 1275cc MG engine is in my pick up now.
