Hi,it’s the timer switch.It is wired as per diagram but the actual contacts do not seem to connect as timer is activated.

MM semaphore switch
Hi all,having problems with original series MM semaphore switch.Managed to get the mechanical side of switch to work but not the electrical side.Has anyone had any luck repairing these old switches?

Ok,bit of progress.Just removed the dynamo/water jacket.Full of congealed anti freeze! It’s a new one from ESM three years ago.Never seen this before,what would cause the a/f to congeal like this?Not checked the thermostat yet Phil.

Well blades appear to be the correct way round.I have no photos of the fitment but is the same as philthehill’s photo.I will check the thermostat opening temp but is boiling water an accurate check?Does it not need pressure as well?

Ok guys,a lot of info there. First off timing seems good as per road testing..single blade,hmmm sounds interesting but does that mean different water pump pulley? New thermostat but does not open until 100 is reached them immediately goes down to 80 but then creeps back up until boiling over.Heater ...

Hi all,is it correct that the fan blades are two different types? Speaking to a long term MM owner he seems to think the blades were not a ‘matched’ pair.If this is so,anyone got a pair they don’t need for sale? Still having overheating problems on my ‘52 with original engine.

Hi all,now retired and with a bit of time on my hands I have decide to spend a bit more time in the garage and tidy up old Maggie May,my ‘52 MM.Looking for front door cards,green.Mine are odd cards and really need replacing.Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi all,just been searching for posts re electric radiator fan but cannot find very detailed information.Can anyone detail which fan from what car etc? I still have the sidevalve engine fitted with the large radiator.Its for’52 MM.

Yes,i think it would be a labour of love,as the saying goes.
I wonder how many sidevalves are actually left on the road today.I only drive mine very rarely now,its not really up to modern traffic standards!

Hi guys,My MM is running rich.Pulled it apart and can see no significant wear(H1 SU).Standard needle,no wear marks.Choke is returning as it should.
