Hi Roy
Surely if a lap belt was installed, wouldn't that stop the rear seat moving?

Re: Fitting seatbelt
My baby seat is compatible with a lap belt. Its probably easier to fit a rear lap belt for securing the baby seat in.

Fitting seatbelt
Hi I need to fit a seatbelt to my 1957 morris minor. I believe my car has no mounts at all for a seatbelt to be fitted. I want to secure a baby seat in my car so need to find a way of doing this. I did think about ratchet strapping the baby seat to the car seat  I'm guessing I would have to sec...

Yes, that happens too. I am then tempted to then get up there backside, but with 7 inch drums, it's just not worth it.simmitc wrote:Much worse are the pillocks who must get in front of you, and then drive slowly

Idiots behind you!
I love and cherish my 1957 minor. I use it when I feel Iike it and sometimes take it to work, BUT I'm getting fed up of idiots following me way too close to my rear bumper! My car has a 1098 engine rather than the standard 948. I dont drive slow, in fact sometimes a little too fast :D I don't want t...

Birch gray. I'll get some of that. Thanksjaekl wrote:For the record it's already non-original. Black cars were the first to get contrasting wheels and grille. 57 to early 59 that color was Birch Grey.

It wouldn't be a holiday without them. Not sure how she would pull a trailer. I have a 6x4 braked trailer. It will be far too large for her.bmcecosse wrote:put the dogs in care.....

Re: need more luggage space
Roof racks can damage roof guttering unless carefully fitted and increase fuel consumption. Also act like sails! Sounds like you need a traveller. I had a traveller, and i sold it! Oh well, I love my saloon. I don't think I need sails on my car, its windy enough up in the hills. Yes I'll leave the ...

Re: painting front grille??
Your right, I'll go and do it.
I remember once years and years ago I sprayed my wheels black on my first minor, I drove to college and when I got there they was the original colour! The rain washed the paint off! I think there was far too much thinners in the paint!

need more luggage space
Hello all I am going on holiday soon to Pembrokeshire in my 1957 saloon. It's a 5 and a half hours drive from where I live. But with my girlfriend, two boxer dogs in the back there isn't a lot of space left. I have been looking at boot racks, but they don't seem "practical" can they hold a...

painting front grille??
I have a black 1957 saloon with the standard old English white / cream (whatever colour it is) grille. but I have seen other "standard" minors with a black grille. Was this an option? I was thinking of painting mine black.
What are your thoughts?

Re: vacuum advance advice
Yes, they do just connect to the coil, there's a magnetic disc that fits under the rotor. Rarely these can be out of alignment so I was told, they wanted me to lift it up and try it again, and if it worked they would of sent me a shim to put under it. It still never worked but by then I accidentally...
