Hi :)

Don't worry too much. There are bound to be a few rusty bits :)

And far better to know about them to not!

Well, I've noticed at least two good things: It doesn't LOOK like anyone's put horrid panels on the floor pan. Which if you do decide that the rust isn't superficial and needs tackling by replacing sections of floor you know you're not going to have to deal with pannels on pannels on pannels... co-i...

Steady the Grumpy one...

This morning Hebe's new engine stay arrived. I decided to fork out for the Mr Grumpy one, since I could see some shearing in the metal on the bottom of the battery box where the original mount is. (I'm glad, since when I took the old steady off the engine block the whole thing came away - there was ...

It's something I've thought about a lot for when Hebe is restored. I'm contemplating a smoothed out engine bay with all the electrics accsessable inside... Or a battery isolation switch if I put my battery somewhere "unconventional" :D

Hi There! To quote from the Smiths Care of Instruments Book: Disconnect flexible drive from Speedometer. With gears in Neutral, count number of turns of inner shaft for six turns of the rear wheels when vehicle is moved forward in a straight line. Measure rolling radius of the rear wheels with tyres...

Now I'm paranoid. I've spent the last half hour looking at hebe's floor... Granted, she's ticketed until March and she'll have left long before then, but... but... Seriously though, I need to get that boot floor replaced before I move her. Everything else can wait. - Looking at it just now alongside...

Thanks everyone! I am now a happy girl. Misfiring: I just took it to back to the guy I bought it off (classic car chap down the road) and we had a fun morning changing faulty condenser, points and putting a new coil. (yes and now I know what all of those do and what they look like, too.) Now she is...

Hi!

I'm going to be moving stateside fairly soon (probably) so I'd be willing to help if you were anywhere nearby...

E-mail me off list if you like (send a private message I mean) and maybe we can solve the problem with two heads :)

Mr. Grumpy does a kit which fits onto the standard 1098 box. As far as I know it's simply a case of taking the rubber cover off and placing the switch there.

hi! You don't have to completely drain the system to re-fit the oil filter. Provided the system is COLD (you really don't want to take the filter off with hot oil), it's not a problem. Make sure you have the oil bucket under the filter, and slowly undo the bolt. You'll find you will loose some oil, ...
