Hollywood beckons?
Ok, it was a lovely sunny Thursday two weeks ago and I was driving home from work in the Morris. On the slip road to join the busy A38 dual carriageway, I noticed a white Audi four-by- four in the inside lane. Being a considerate driver, and realising the Audi would have considerably more power than...

Re: Tin opener.
Thank you for the replies. You're right Alanworland, most modern ones are rubbish. I can't remember my late parents ever buying a tin opener when I was groing up, but in forty-one years of marriage, we must have got through dozens of the blighters!
First port of call, Sainsburys, thanks Les.

Tin opener.
Can anyone recommend a decent tin opener. I'm not interested if you are using the one your Grandma bought in 1948, but would like to hear if you've bought one in the last five years or so, if it is up to the job and you are satisfied with it. We've tried manual ones and battery operated ones but the...

Re: trafficator switch/steering wheel
Can't help with the electrical side, but I refurbished my steering wheel myself. I bought a cheap one from ebay, rubbed it down filling any stress cracks and sprayed it gloss black with a rattle can. Then several coats of clear lacquer gave it a deep gloss shine! This is the two spoke tho', is yours...

This would be 1968 or after as the reflective plate, as on the traveller was optional from then and compulsory five years later.

Re: Wiper arm "fins"
Two things I bought for my Viva in my youth; a gear lever extension which increased the length by two inches, and a device which attached to the heater hose in the engine to give "hot" water when using the screen wash. Both a waste of money. And did those plastic rear "demist" panels actually work?

Re: Morris Minor
Good for you! I know exactly how you feel! Just out of curiosity, and without being rude, are you at an age where you remember the Morris Minor on the road, or are you a late convert? My own situation is I remember Morris's when they were every-day transport for many. Happy Minoring!

Thanks for this ManyMinors. The steering wheel on the car at the moment is off centre and has always bugged me! Also, valuable safety advice there so many thanks for this.

Steering Wheel (again!)
Hello. I've re-furbished a steering wheel for my 1967 four door saloon and now wish to replace the one on the car with it. On removing the horn push, I'm faced with a shaft and spring held on with a circlip, obviously part of the horn mechanism. My question is, do I need a deep socket to remove the ...

Light Bulb.
Any electricians on here? My daughter has a bedside lamp shaped like an old fashioned film camera and made of metal. The label on the shade says the golf ball bulb is to be a maximum of 25w, however, I can only source a 28w bulb. Would this be ok to use?
Thanks.
Thanks.
