many moons ago i was asked to do plugs and points on a ford anglia, job done would,nt start.after much checking cursing swearing i came across another timing mark on front pulley,the real one.everything reset vroom vroom.never came across this ever again. re,john

i have just had a struggle fitting rubber to screen,finishing off with a faw adjectives. the answer is just a slight smidge of washing up liquid along both edges. easy. i intend to use tyre fitting soap for the body fit. re, john.

thanks geobernie and mark wilson,yes,64 car and 66 rubber. i shall consult manual,i looked through utube and found plenty mini,s having screen,s fitted hard way also split screen minor,s. more upon completion. re, john

front w/screen fitting
i have just unwrapped w/screen rubber for my 64 2 door. the rubber is like nothing i have ever seen,cant make head nor tail of it. i have fitted screens in th past mostly to fords. can somebody enlighten me as to what section this should look like,plastic infill type. re,john.

hallo dave, i dont know about pressings,but having just replaced f/ward spring hanger and gone through a migraine placing correctly hanger plate be warned do not lose rivet holes in floor under rear seat,datum points. re, john.

hello again phil, a35 washer mislade as quick as found,i looked it up on bull motif,it is a stepped welded washer with tongue on edge,describedas special lock washer for inner fulcrum bolt. i am completley useless at pic,s . re,john.

hello, phill, your description of large washer is better than mine, but fits the bill exactly. having a rummage into a30/35 bits this washer looks identical to bottom inner susp pan/chassis link the recess being used to locate.i wonder if this is just a parts bin use up. re john.

in the process replacing steering pins,i notice the large washer has got a groove around it. left side was different to right side.for the life of me i cant understand why. which is correct fitment. re ,john.

thanks very much for that gavin, ididnt know it went back 3 years,now using hair tonic with fingers crossed. i have just found remnants of a rivet hole which should be genuine datum point.now invest igating holes in hanger and replacement .re john.

tearing hair out,whats left of it. i have seen lately maesurement for replacing forward spring hanger. cant fing them. jig plate with datum holes made of crusty old henger but i am slipping up on side to side placement,many bodges made to this car in the past, so, where to measure from. help. re,john.

that is the idea,long ago leather spats were fitted on lux cars i remem,ber seeing one with oil gun nipples,i suppose some poor chauffer had to keep spats polished.oiled springs give a nice ride, i have heard it said that leafs crack because of extra flexing. re, john.

i had 5 galls diesel stored in clear plastic fuel container,when i came to use it there was water in the bottom and asticky brown residue.being tight fisted i decanted slowly into clear glass container and then used it.i scraped the residue out,and over afew days it hardened into a sticky toffee,was...
