Re: Electronic ignition

Chipper : Thanks for this - I went for the new Accuspark distributer too and I'm aware both my mechanics (old school from the 70s) went for a drive and kept stopping to set it so I'm happy thats been done. I'm sure the problem I have is not fitting a sport coil as I wanted to keep the car looking or...

Re: Electronic ignition

After 6 months of juddering power and not being able to find a fix, I changed to Accuspark and lost about 20% of the cars power - but gained reliability. I therefore established my problem was not heat evaporation, or a dirty carb, or failing condensors but probably a worn distributor or possibly th...

Great to see this at the 2018 National Rally - made my day - shame it wasn't parked next to NWL - so wish I'd bought it now.

Re: OOP 575 1954 - Is the owner here?

The auction write up claims to have the original 'buff logbook' in the reg number of OOP575 - I surpose a cherish swap could have been done or maybe an ID swap of some kind. Seems strange that one registration is linked to 2 Morris Minors though.

Re: OOP 575 1954 - Is the owner here?

After a quick search, Google shows the car as a new registration, KDG163 and was on sale at auction in September.
It also says it was a 1951 ?

Re: Travellers in London

Might be a better idea to start logging restoration projects and barnfinds off ebay and gumtree to see which ones magically reappear within weeks after their ID's have been swapped onto stolen cars.

Re: Last Minor Ever......really ?? (Manchester)

I see from the latest issue of Minor Matters that this car is now in the safe hands of the MMOC and will be on display at the Classic Car Show !. Well done to all those involved and I'm so pleased I highlighted it, still can't believe I didn't even get a reply from MINI Oxford, obviously not that bo...

Re: Robin Thomasson

If you know the previous registration number, can't you just apply for a V5 to be issued in your name. ? It might start the ball rolling with the dvla or you might get someone daft enough to do it.

Hi all, Yes, I made my own roof rack - I attached the pics on page 2 of another post. http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=58921&start=20 [frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1472028619_20480 [/frame] I did mine by using the 1960's roof rack feet from a set of bars I bought on eb...

Re: Footman James issues

If the car is in the UK, being stored in the UK, you only drive it in the UK and you have a UK address when you are in the UK, why have you mentioned Saudi.? Unless you are not a UK resident - in which case insure the car in a friends name with you as a named driver but you may have to change the V5...

Kent - you've got to be joking - that'll be a right trip for anyone north of Midlands. What about a compromise and North M25 bottom of M1 area. I admit it was North Yorks a couple of years ago, looks like I may be stopping over night, travelling through the night or not going. If it is Kent, I might...

Re: Help! Suspected carburettor problem.

One of the concerns this owner had was the clamp around the exhaust had cracked blowing hot fumes onto the carb area. After a successful run to the nationals and back, I can confirm my issue was down to a very light layer of dust around the inside of the distributor cap and I also lightly rubbed the...

3 Australian CKD Minors at Catton Hall, 2016

How many people spotted these then, 3 in the same place, check out the Australian stamped radiator and the VW Beetle rear lamps stamped with Hella Australia. As a nice twist, the blue on the end was originally the same colour as the grey/cream at the other end.[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?...

Sorry guys, spent 1 hr reducing 30 photos and then messing around loading one at a time, just keeps freezing and had enough. If you want to see my 30 photos, click on this link to the 'competitors' Public MMO facebook page. Unfortunatly I can't upload onto MMOC's. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/...

Anyone travelling from Sheffield Barnsley area and setting off really early on Sat morning. I was planning on leaving about 7am (Stocksbridge) to get there for 9am, with 2 or 3 10 min stops. Strength in numbers and all that. I was going to head down the M1 to Jct 28 and straight down the A38.

Thanks BMC and Panky, you solutions make sence but unfortunately pistons and float chambers, moving things around and changing how things work all sounds far to complicated and confusing to me, if I try I'll bulls it up even more. Looks like I might have to get my cheque book out if I want to get Wo...
