Hi everyone its been a while since i posted on the site but i do lurk in the back ground allot and read lots of posts Anyway after 5 great years of having the moggie its about time i did some bodywork as its looking i bit rough in places and thought i would treat her to 4 new wings! wow i am surpris...

Hi everyone
How much do you think I mill need to pay for a half decent 1275 engine and gearbox from a sprite or midget?
I only ask because i am thinking of putting one in my minor

Yes the VC5 is still with the car but when you type the reg number in on a DVLA website no car found comes up

Hi everyone Has anyone on here owned both the A35 and a minor 1000? if so which did you prefer? I only ask because im viewing an A35 tomorrow thats been stored away for over 40 yrs so will need work (maybe lots) and didnt want to waste the money or time if they are a disappointing car to drive I hav...

I will just leave things alone if its not an issue as i dont really want to increase the tick over much because she sounds nice and happy at the RPM its doing

How common is it to have the ignition light on when the engine is at idle?
could it be a dynamo fault or maybe the control box?

The manifold that was on my 948 head is all cast iron so guess it might of been swapped some time in the past?

can anyone tell me if the all cast iron manifolds on a 948cc and the 1098cc are the same?
Im only asking because im using a 1098 head but my 948 manifold and i dont have a 1098 to compare

Thanks Phil The camshaft will be the one out of the donor 1965 1098 engine which is where the head and other parts have come from I have not removed the cam yet so i really dont know what end it has but if its the pin type will it go back in and line up without any probs or of the pin falling out wh...

Hi I will be swapping the cylinder head on my 948cc to a skimmed etc head off a 1098cc so is it possible to swap the camshaft aswell at the same time while the engine is still in the car? I know the front of the car will need to be removed for access but will lining the cam and oil pump up on refitt...

its all sorted now
i took the head back off and the stud came out quite easily with some mole grips
it was odd that it snapped though as was not up to the 44ft/lbs on that stud before just went ping! & i had that sick feeling

thanks for the reply phil the stud has snapped at the top level with the rocker shaft assembly so there is plenty of length but not enough thread to do the 2 nut thing :cry: how tight are the studs in the block normally? oh the head is still on the engine and i cant get to fiddle for another week so...

Thanks guys The boot is only fit for scrap really as it was repaired badly in the 90s and now the bottom about 3 inchs up on the inside and outside are mega rotten with holes and bits missing :( so im going to look at a replacement as the cost of repair panel and welding charges plus extra prep time...

if im looking for a second hand item is there only certain years that will fit my car? or is that a part morris didnt tinker with?
