How on earth do they get the figures on page 70

Yes it's the numbers, which appear to be fed into the last equation on page 69. So far as I know, p, placed in front of the square bracket, means that the contents of the bracket are multiplied by p. Within the square bracket, the figures in the regular brackets are worked out , multiplied by 1 /E1 ...

I just can't make out where they got the figures from, to make the calculation .

I am trying to work out how the equation, at the bottom of page 69, becomes the solution on page 70. It is a long time since I did O level maths but I don't recall anything quite like this, so maybe this would be A level or perhaps higher again? Had a bit of spare time today, so disconnected the clutch slave cylinder and the prop shaft came out very easily (Easier than on a Midget), so I think that's the last thing to disconnect before the engine comes out.

I am about to rectify the pig's ear Wares made of the five speed installation in my car, which mainly concern the clutch. However, whilst at it, shorter remotes are now available for the Ford box, plus drain plugs are now an option, so the gearbox is coming out too. I've not removed this type of box...

Just think of the Mini . Some of them are more like Maxi Plus and I recently looked up the weight of one of them. 26cwt or about the same as my grandfather's Riley RM . I don't take much notice of modern stuff but they don't seem that roomy, despite their bulk.

This was published in Safety Fast, the magazine of the MG Car Club but it is open to many clubs. I have sent details to MMOC HQ but received no response. I doubt I will be able to go myself but would if I could.
