Re: Dual/Split Personality Register

None of the cars with duotone interior had the glovebox lids fitted originally. They can be added later of course - all the required holes are punched into the bodywork already! Many of our old cars are not as original as we like to think are they. This is a picture of my DP 1964 traveller with duo...

Re: Minor Seats

I have cut replacement foam cushions myself. You need to use a heavy, dense foam and cut it to the correct size and shape which is slightly tricky but a good result can be achieved with practice. As I said earlier, the foam (and straps) lasts a decade or so whatever you use if the car is used regula...

4 way flasher units which operate both the flashers AND the hazard lights have been around for donkeys years

Re: Unknown grill part

That is the radiator cowl and is completely original for a late Minor 1000 fitted with the fresh air heater. If your car is a 1961 model, then the panel has clearly been replaced at some time. It looks in good condition. The damage around the starting handle access will have been caused by use/misus...

Re: Minor Seats

You don't say what model you have but if it is a Minor 1000 I expect the foam cushion has lost its support and the webbing straps underneath have given up after all these years. The seats can easily be taken apart and new straps and cushions purchased. It is just a simple maintenance job really. I f...

Re: Flasher Unit Connections

If your car has hazard lights fitted, this is a modification and requires a different flasher unit. It sounds as if you have purchased a standard flasher unit instead? You just require a flasher unit the same as the one fitted previously in order to work your hazard lights.

Re: Noise from the rear end!!

Without hearing it, it is very difficult to make useful suggestions but could the noise simply be the rear bump stops hitting the bodywork too hard and too frequently? My saloon suffered from this after I replaced the rear bump stops. The new ones looked OK but the material was very hard and this co...

Re: Wheels

It rather depends upon what you want to achieve but the Marina wheels definitely do NOT fit the Minor hubs. Some Minor owners have Marina wheels because they have fitted Marina running gear and therefore have Marina hubs. Marina wheels are only 13 inch diameter. Sprite/Midget Rostyle wheels DO fit s...

Re: Sidelight/indicator earth

The wiring diagram Geoberni shows is not for the later lights being discussed though. It is for the earlier cars with the clear glass front lights and small red rear lights which operate as flashers using the Lucas DB10 cut-out unit shown in the diagram

Re: Sidelight/indicator earth

Exactly so. The base is metal, so should earth when screwed to the metal wing. They were never fitted with a seperate earth from the factory but if you feel you need one....it can be added of course.

Re: stainless window frames what model?

Your question was about Stainless window frames, but then broadened to frames in general Other's have already mentioned relative dimensions, LCV used same as 4dr, as it doesn't need to provide access to a rear seat. 2dr, Traveller and Tourer all use a wider door for rear access. As to Chrome Surrou...

Re: stainless window frames what model?

2 door saloon, convertible and traveller are interchangeable. Van and pick-up use the front doors from a 4door saloon which are the shorter doors and frames. There are only these two different sizes. If your spare pair are the same length as the ones on your car, then they will fit. There is about 4...
