I have cut replacement foam cushions myself. You need to use a heavy, dense foam and cut it to the correct size and shape which is slightly tricky but a good result can be achieved with practice. If your car has hazard lights fitted, this is a modification and requires a different flasher unit. It sounds as if you have purchased a standard flasher unit instead? You just require a flasher unit the same as the one fitted previously in order to work your hazard lights.

Exactly so. The base is metal, so should earth when screwed to the metal wing. They were never fitted with a seperate earth from the factory but if you feel you need one....it can be added of course.
