Re: Extra lighting for Travellers
i saw this ...and went slightly mad with it These are lovely little lights, and i felt quite in keeping with the Traveller so for a small investment and playing with the electrical spaghetti..., I now have button switched reading lights each side for the rear seat ... A pair of lights each side in t...

Originally the needle flew to way beyond the full mark, and then at a shade under 1/2, I ran out of fuel, but 230 mile to the tankful fettled around to try to correct...now the position is reversed fuel gauge needle is mov...

very tidy, and many thanks Phil. Solid Club member
now i can check improvements in scroll 'seal' oil leakage
as a query, is there still a level of crankcase pressure present, even if one had perfect bores and rings?

Re: Breather Oil Trap
gosh ...a bit of a shock horror revelation. :o quite surprising seeing that amount of rust in such an oil fume rich environment...i guess condensation from alternating hot & cold, and getting worse as the blockage grew. This is off a 1971 Traveller, so one of the 'newest' out there. There must b...

Re: over reading speedo
I'd hazard that Declan's little gear box might be a shade cheaper and certainly an easier fit than finding the right unit and swapping out a diff

The tyres are Bridgestone 145 80R 14, so ideal tyre pressure? perhaps that might help a shade ?

Re: over reading speedo
most helpful chaps, problem with the Morris is its all too easy to get anal about it ...every little sound that wasn't there yesterday, tweaking and fettling kids refer to it as Dad's Meccano set ....that's them written straight out of the Will ! the speedo is def a 1408 TPM (turns per minute I gues...

over reading speedo
1971 Trav, in pretty good order, and i believe has not been messed around with previously...but who knows However the speedo seems to be over reading by about 20%, ie 50 MPH on my phone speed app = 60 on the speedo. this discrepancy is also reflected in the speedo odometer reading, so calculating th...

thank you John,
a most helpful and useful article
I'm not an electrician or electronics engineer, my skills lie elsewhere, so a step by step guide is great

Re: HEATER PROBLEMS
the missing thermostat only part of the problem. the silted up matrix i believe the most significant defect, and after 50 years the foams had perished with the unit all sealed up now and new foam, there is hardly any air escaping when the flap is to the 'off' position i believe it is a bit of a desi...

Re: Breather Oil Trap
I have a 1971 Traveller. I can concur with Pgp, Canister completely blocked with nasty metallic crud. No passage of air, and producing oil leaks on removal, I poked and prodded through the top tube using a stiff wire with a right angle bend to scour the inside best as possible, Then thorough wash wi...

Re: starter motor / solenoid ??
thanks for the tips so far ...now removed both starter and solenoid ... Solenoid, no continuity test across relevant spade connectors ...so i guess solenoid is duff Starter on the deck, held by boot, -ve jump lead clipped to mounting flange, touched +ve to threaded cable stud at back of starter .......
