Re: Cat C Minor for sale

It certainly looks very tidy - from the images, it looks like the rear bumper has been pushed in on the N/S, so would probably need a new rear wing. Other than that, it looks like a really tidy and looked-after car.

Re: Model of my Morris

My brother sent me a model of a maroon traveller, even though mine is Almond Green. So I'm about to paint the real car Maroon B. :D Reminds me of the James May column I read once where he said rather than buying a personalised registration, you should change your name by deed poll to the reg you al...

Model of my Morris

Hi,

I'm looking for a model version of my Morris to have on my desk at work - it's a 4 door grey saloon. Anyone got any idea where I can get hold of one for a reasonable sum? Seem to be loads of 2 door ones but I want it to be the same :)

TIA

Re: Morris Minor with young children?

Hi,

One thing I would say is stay away from a 4 door until they are old enough that they won't randomly try and open the doors - there's no childlocks so a 2 door or a Traveller are actually safer than the more practical-sounding 4 door.

Re: Do I need to SORN?

I think the police would take a dim view of you driving 50 miles with no MOT and then driving 50 miles back if it fails. I think the rule assumes you will take it to the nearest MOT station. Here's hoping you don't get stopped. Hi, Thanks for the reply - I can't see anything saying I can't take it ...

Re: Do I need to SORN?

Yes - if the tax has run out. And then you meed to PRE-BOOK the MOT before driving there. It must remain Insured if you take it on the highway. The tax is good until next April so no problem there - I take it then that there's no need. I'm driving it to a Morris-friendly MOT station about 50 miles ...

Re: Spotted today.

Was following a few cars behind a lovely black saloon on the way to Stourbridge the other day - reg 6762HX - anyone's here?

Annoyingly there were too many cars between us to get a proper view - you seemed to be keeping pace with the modern traffic though :)

Do I need to SORN?

Hi, MOT is due on Thursday - hoped to get it done tomorrow but brakes need sorting so won't be able to get it MOT'd before it runs out. It's parked in a locked carport at home - do I need to SORN or doesn't it need it for no MOT? Getting slightly confused reading through different forums (fora?) Tha...

Re: Spotted today.

Saw a pretty Traveller VNK108J on Monday in Kidderminster.

I have seen 5 Moggies since owning mine - 4 of which when I'm not in mine :( the only one I saw when in mine was looking the wrong way to see me... oh well.

Re: Scraping noise when in transit

Hi. Thanks for the reply.

It's still got the standard brakes - plans to convert to discs eventually. The car had been sat for a long time until I bought it in April, so probably just worn out.

I will try the jacking tomorrow to hopefully isolate the sound.

Scraping noise when in transit

Hi, I've got a horrible scraping noise when I'm driving along. It sounds like it could be N/SF but not 100%. I've had a look around online and looks like it could be the wheel bearing. I've got no idea really what I'm doing. Is anyone by any chance local to Kidderminster and able to take a look? Or ...

Re: Spotted today.

Saw a green Traveller today in Kidderminster - thought the reg plate was AAW223T, (which I know is too young), but this actually seems to be registered to a Marina (coincidence?).

Anyone out there own this? Looked very pretty.

Just trying to work out what colour he should be.

I've narrowed it down to Frilford Grey, Yukon Grey or maybe even Clerendon Grey. Anyone got an idea? It's 1961.

Well I was a little impatient this evening and tried starting it up again - IT STARTED!

Not sure what the problem was, but my Morris has cured itself! <3

Re: Advice for a newbie on getting it moving again

The battery will probably have drained and you may have knackered the coil, they get VERY hot with the ignition on and engine not running :( There are all sorts of chargers out there, just make sure you get one with 12 volt high and low charging - you don't need to spend a fortune. Remember to disc...

Advice for a newbie on getting it moving again

Hi, I've been a bit of a numpty and looking for some help. Went away on holiday for a fortnight. Came back and thought I'd take the Moggie for a spin. Started no trouble, went round the block and parked up outside whilst cleaning it up some more. Went to start it then, and wouldn't kick in. Starter ...
