Re: Newbie

Welcome! That’s a brilliant colour. Seeing a small palm tree in the background, are you on the south coast? I am based in Devon and we are looking for more members to join a monthly run out around the moors etc. 😀 David

Re: Devon / Cornwall Border Socially Distanced July Run

Last minute suggestion from Liam saw us out again today in the company of both his Wolesey Six and Morris Minor. Nice run out from Sourton area, to Moretonhampstead, Bovey Tracey, and back across Dartmoor! Plenty of rain, but also wind and sunny spells. Spotted a burgandy convertible minor outside t...

Re: Devon / Cornwall Border Socially Distanced July Run

Hi Mike. You definitely will not be far from us, indeed I have in my head a run to Hannafore Point in Looe at some point! Also bear in mind that you can join any run in any other car, if you are temporarily without a working Minor! Good luck with the move! Cheers, David :D

Re: Devon / Cornwall Border Socially Distanced July Run

Well, everything went without a hitch. The two cars met in Tavistock and we spent a very agreeable morning driving up to the top of Kit Hill and then on to Roadford lake via a wide variety of roads. It was really nice to see Liam’s primrose coloured Minor In the rear view mirror and we got a good nu...

Re: Devon / Cornwall Border Socially Distanced July Run

All polished up and ready to roll tomorrow. Looks like there will be only two Minors on the run out, plus a back-up car! Anyone else who’d like the join, 10am tomorrow, Sunday, leaving from the Meadows car park in Tavistock. Only a two hour run, but weather should be good! Just turn up and you will ...

Re: Devon / Cornwall Border Socially Distanced July Run

Ok, so am now thinking next Sunday 12th July for this first run! StartImg at Tavistock just inside the main car park on the Plymouth Road (with the leisure centre) at 10am sharp. Then heading to Kit Hill near Callington via Gunnislake. Short rest at the top of Cornwall’s highest viewpoint (to take i...

Devon / Cornwall Border Socially Distanced July Run

I am delighted to report that after three months in lockdown, my Morris Minor 1000 (1957 saloon) is back on the road having been laid-up for four years! So now, I am keen to hit the road in the company of some other Moggies, when the weather is favourable! Anyone fancy a Sunday drive one weekend in ...

Re: Round Cornwall Run June 2015

Just a quick update for anyone interested, the car is now back an running great. Radiator core had blocked up, causing the water in the engine to turn to steam. When the steam escaped via the overflow pipe, it blew the water in the radiator all over the exhaust pipe! Hence the "mobile cloud&quo...

Re: Round Cornwall Run June 2015

Was a great day and thanks for the suggestion Panky. Without the extra water on board we would have been stuck at the first boil over!! Suggestion for the water was spot on! :D

Re: Round Cornwall Run June 2015

Report on the round Cornwall day on Friday 5th. Having used plenty of spit and polish the day before, the car look great when we turned out at 7.30am. The fact that she initially failed to start should perhaps have been taken as an omen for the day ahead!! However, we were in optimistic mood and loo...

Hi All, Thought I would use this discussion thread to say hi and to invite any comers to a round Cornwall trip starting from Launceston on Friday 5th June at 8.30. The intention is to drive in my 1958 Minor down to Lands End hugging the North Coast all the way, then return along the South coast to L...

Round Cornwall Run June 2015

Hi All, I have been driving my 1958 Morris Minor 1000 since passing my test some 34 years ago :D . When I was 18 I put two pendant decals on the car, one saying John O'Groats and one Land''s End. The car has worn these pendants ever since, but has never been to either! So this June I am taking the c...
