Yes quite true originally it was just the painted metal finish but I thought it would be nice to fit in a board and carpet it . It could always be taken out to keep it original if in future i wanted too . I have now sourced some carpet. Thanks for your comments

Hi Jagnut. Yes that's my problem the lining is not wide enough especially where the hoops are and stretching will not get the required width does anyone else make these linings ?

Brilliant photos , imagine having a drop off turning one of those cranks. ( drop off engineering term for mistake where you have to scrap the work peice)
