Re: Refurbishing my gloveboxes

Someone on here did the same with a cream flick sticky back plastic - shades of blue peter- they looked just like new ones for a fraction of the cost of new and gave some strength back to tired pressed card.

Proto Traveller?

Any more like this. There is the Kenyan one which ended up in a rubbish dump, but that was saloon based .... Now this is an interesting conversion from a pick-up...Elwood Herring posted in Northfield Past, Present And Future. FB page 'A couple of pics of my dad's first car, circa 1960, parked in Spi...

Re: ..and I thought all Morris Minor drivers were nice chaps

Minor drivers have a naturally stoned expression, it can derive from several sources 1) Medication as listed above. 2) inhaling exhaust fumes from the leaky joint between pipe and manifold /manifold gasket gone. (a variation on this from my student days is that lovely burning smell from forgetting t...

Re: NMP Plates?

A simple contact adhesive from QD stores with a 15 minute play / wipe time. This allowed it to squeeze out having been spread evenly around the base and sealing under the plate to prevent water ingress..

Re: NMP plates

So stepping away from Minor photo hunting before I go completely blind, Thought I would install my newly Clarendon Grey painted NMP plate. That went well but I learned a valuable lesson today. I was putting a nice new ' Another Quality First Morris' sticker on the back windscreen and listening to 'I...

I love the term 'distressed' for the paint. It looks more 'thoroughly traumatised' though.

Re: front panel/grille sorround and radiator panel colour

Not sure they do suit a Minor best. Later cars with Silver / Ali coloured wheels, IMHO look better with cream wheels esp if the grille is also cream, and cream (OEIW) is better than white. Earlier cars such as sage green and my own Clarendon Grey, again IMHO look better with wheels and grille body c...

The offside glovebox lid will have people salivating. They are like hens teeth and only fitted on LHD export vehicles.

Re: LAS618

Or indeed a police station, I understand that in the mists of time, they were once places that those in need of assistance in the locality could go and even see a Minor Panda car if one were lucky. Now they have been sold, demolished or in our case converted into luxury flats ......I wonder which po...

Re: LAS618

Nice idea, but probably unwise as the police have to have a valid reason for a check on the PNC and this is not one of them. The checks are all recorded and audited , as well as spot checked locally, and in addition to this being a discipline offence this could end up a criminal offence under the co...

I would love to meet the 'committee' who decided on this code ! Is it not to Issigonis that the quote ' A Camel is a Horse designed by a committee' is attributed ?

Thanks Chris !

Re: Adderley Park Traveller's

Chris what did BMJ signify. One other thing, on stamping several S2 2 door (BM) NMP plates, I have come across a variant sign Z. XXXX.X ie second dot centrally placed before last digit. Any ideas ?
