Re: split personality wiper arms

In many old types the arm length could be changed slightly, pushing it into the body or pulling it out in a form of interference fit. Modern versions are fixed as to length with a rivet. Although the esm type are made for the Minor they are adapted from the Mini ones so the bit that fits over the sp...

Re: split personality wiper arms

Be careful, the wipers posted by Old jalopy will be the right length but they are effectively Mini wipers which will wipe the screen effectively as the springs are great. The trouble is that they tend to foul on the bonnet when it is opened. There are plenty of original Series III wiper arms availab...

Re: Unknown grill part

They were much the same apart from the fresh air intake. It will give you no benefit inside the earlier car as the large hole in the bulkhead is presumably not there, nor the hose which connects them and your heater is likely to be different.

Re: Unknown grill part

As has been said, this part is for the later model, which had the elephant hose air intake. There are new (replica) panels for the Series V form DMG. https://www.abingdonmgparts.co.uk/product/radiator-cowl%3A-morris-minor-1098cc/rad114 There are repair panels for the lower part available https://www...

Re: Mirrors

On the subject of mirrors, I find the wing mirror not too bad but the current ones on the car are not as good as the originals which were on when I bought it in 1978. Instead of the quadrant type arms they are almost 'S' shaped and take the lenses further out. I have looked at auto jumbles and on li...

Re: Start of rear repair first timer

Possibly unwise to paint the piping as the paint can crack. Attaching the wing loosely will allow paint to get into the joint area ready for piping after painting.

Re: Start of rear repair first timer

Just a thought, The car looks Clarendon Grey. Do not be tempted to chuck out the rear wing piping, no matter how squashed or compressed it might be. It is no longer available and although only a total nerd (me) would notice, the other greys or even black, simply do not look as good. If anyone knows ...

Try also the MMO FB site (Not the same as MMOC) and Morris Minor Owners Community FB site. Many on these are not MMOC members it would appear, although there will be some crossover.

Re: which carpet kit should I buy

Originals had no trim around the outside and the modern ones lack the toe pad protector on the gearbox tunnel. I have a couple of these (original) if anyone wants one.

Re: Electric Fuel Pump SU v Hardi

The Hardi is, in my experience, much noisier than the SU and has a tendency to overheat and fail. Nor is it particularly cheap.

But.... and I know they are easily removable .... the hubcaps appear to have the centra; 'M' stamped in which was a Series II feature.
