Re: Classic car snobbery
I wave at other classics owners and usually get a wave back, sometimes with a look of shock (maybe they were new to the game and had never thought of it). Often get waves from people on the side of the road - you do NOT own a Morry if you don't want to be looked at. The funniest one was a bloke in a...
Re: bind weed
Green concrete mate. Cover it, kill it, then if you're a real masochist, pull it up later though putting a shed over it to take your expanding Morry collection probably makes more sense.

Re: Citroen 2CV
I'm not an expert but did work on 2CVs for a Citreon main dealer back in the day. Even went on a week long course at Citreon in Slough! Must've been a lot of repetition if the course took a whole week   Back in the late forties, my dad owned a Rugby - he claims he changed the head gasket...
Re: Twitter
Not sure I completely agree with you. It all depends on the users and unfortunately, social media has too high a percentage of mindlessness. On the other hand, depending on the forumites and the moderators, forums can be everything that's bad about social media. In general though, you've summed it u...

Re: Post referendum malarkey
Being an aussie, I've no valid view one way or the other on the result. However, I was amazed that people seriously think that just because they lost the vote, they have the right to demand a second try... with different rules. It's like saying the wrong government got in (we get that all the time) ...
Re: bind weed
Had a wisteria out the back of one place I owned. We tried everything - all the poisons (the ruddy thing thrived), dug a massive hole to get rid of all the roots (must've been root bound by the way it came back). Eventually we extended the house and it copped a concrete slab over the top of it. Didn...

Re: joke
I'm on a couple of forums with joke threads and funny picture threads - they work well but only if people are willing to play by the rules and there is a moderator who is an enthusiastic participant (which means there's someone on hand to cut out the naughty stuff). The biggest problem would be that...

Re: Dead clutch and/or gearbox?
Check out the linkages for wear. If they're very sloppy (like mine are), you'll wind up in this situation with most of the pedal movement taking up the slop before it gets to do anything with the clutch.

Re: Should I change my uni joints?
Whilst they may be free and smooth is there any rotational play in the joints? Try turning the rear flange and propshaft against other i.e. backwards/forwards and the same at the front. If no play I would advise leaving well alone. Yeah, I did that and there was no rotational play. Everything seeme...

Re: squeeky breaks
Someone's gotta be the spelling nazi - it's BRAKES :D But that's just me being cheeky. New pads do take a bit to bed in sometimes, though I'm not aware of squealing being part of it. I've just fitted new shoes and drums and got some vibration to start with. Just take her for a good drive with lots o...

Should I change my uni joints?
My Moggy was suffering from extremely loud noises when driving associated with vibration. One suggestion was a seized uni joint. A head under the car showed that the old girl had grease nipples on the joints (OMG, someone fitted the correct bits :o ) and over the length of a good drive, the vibratio...

Re: Advice on buying a Convertible please.
That info I got for our car from this site, if that's wrong then the site needs updating. I don't know the club yet but just as a bit of feedback I have heard from other Morris Minor owners that the club is and I quote "Sniffy" and the last owner found it intimidating because the car isn'...
