Gearbox alternatives
Bit of background, my car has (had!) a 1275 Sprite engine and gearbox in it, yesterday had an awful clunk and lost 1st (locked up solid) and 2nd was pretty much unusable. 3rd & 4th just about got me home. Gearbox is out and lots of shrapnel from broken teeth. It gets used daily and goes really w...

Re: How to contact someone about new membership
Give them a call. I spoke to them today and it's now sorted.
Apparently the registration part of the website is known to be broken. It moves various fields into the wrong place hence the car colour becoming your name.

Re: XTU 516F & FJK 387G Both 2 door saloons
So a bit of digging through the pile of documents I got with the car reveals that a previous owner was the Morris Minor Millennium Company. My guess is they did the engine & brake conversion.

Re: 1275 exhaust manifold questions.
Monty-4 is putting a cut down manifold in the post for me. Hopefully will get it fitted next week at some point.
Next job is to identify what head & cam I have fitted and think about upgrading those.

XTU 516F & FJK 387G Both 2 door saloons
After 25 years of not having a road worthy Morris I now have a white 2 door saloon XTU 516F, it's got a 1275 engine, disc brakes, anti roll bar etc. Does anyone know anything of it's history? I believe a previous owner was a member and posted on here. My first car was another 2 door saloon (Almond G...

Re: 1275 exhaust manifold questions.
Engine number is 12CE-DA-H 12789 According to here http://www.mg-cars.org.uk/news/news498.html it's a Sprite Mk4/ MG Midget Mk3. I'm not sure if it's been modified at all, the previous owner didn't seem to know very much about it. Apparently a previous owner posted on this forum and it was posted in...

Re: 1275 exhaust manifold questions.
Thanks again for the help. So pricing up on the BM site a system comes in at £200 + VAT. It doesn't mention the size but does say large bore so I'm guessing is not what I want. I've asked the size and am waiting for them to get back to me. It also sounds like they aren't a great fit. On Maniflow (1 ...

Re: 1275 exhaust manifold questions.
Thank you both. Having read up it did seem the larger bore would be to big, 1 5/8" seems to be the size that's right for me at the moment. A couple more questions... Who is BM? The manifold that is currently on there is a Mini one going by part numbers. Looking for a Marina/Ital one seems to be...

1275 exhaust manifold questions.
Currently I have 1275 (Sprite I believe) engine, with a 12G787 combined manifold. HS4 carb. However I want to fit a better inlet manifold, I have a nice Oselli torquemaster with HiF44, K&N etc ready to go. It's currently running a standard exhaust, which I think needs to be upgraded to large bor...

How to contact someone about new membership
I've just gone through the process of filling out the form for joining the MMOC, got to the end and paid so thought all was good. I have got a confirmation from the card going through but nothing from MMOC. Also on the last page it said "thanks Mr White". The only thing I have to do with w...

Re: Brake disc conversion identification
Thanks MrIan. Vented discs and have the standard Minor stud pattern. Went into local motor factors this morning and after some umming and arring they think it's Sierra. Parts should arrive this afternoon so going to check in a bit, will report back.

Re: Brake disc conversion identification
Thanks! Hopefully I'll get there in the end. Frustratingly in the paperwork was a print out from a thread on this forum when it was sold a few years ago but the thread has been deleted from what I can gather. Now at home I have had another look at the main part of the calliper, can't see a part numb...

Brake disc conversion identification
I've recently acquired a Morris 1000 with a few modifications and am in the lovely position where one of the front callipers is sticking. The problem I have is I am not sure what the exact part is that I need to order, I'm assuming I should get a pair of new callipers plus hoses, (the hoses are in p...
