Re: Limeflower Traveller - Getting Zippy Back On The Road.

Thanks, yes, been garaged well whilst awaiting final restoration completion. Wasn't quite so smart as a battered 18 year old well used car when I was given it. A bit more tlc and an interior, we'll be good to go :) I like the colour too, not everyone is a fan haha I'll share some more photos when th...

Re: Limeflower Traveller - Getting Zippy Back On The Road.

Hi Yes - your summary sounds about right :) My Dad did all that ad the body and panel stuff years ago - so I am only left with final jigsaw of entire interior to go back in. The engine is the 1.3 - that's all I know mechanically. Dad is a full on old car enthusiast and has a small collection of his ...

Re: Limeflower Traveller - Getting Zippy Back On The Road.

There can be no doubt that Limeflower is and was the greatest colour ever to grace a Morris product. If I was brave enough I would change my OEW trav to Limeflower. But I'm not. Great looking car. Haha I think Limeflower is an acquired taste for me... I loved the cream colour years ago, but still w...

Re: Limeflower Traveller - Getting Zippy Back On The Road.

Looking good. Does it have the Marina front hubs/back axle conversion? (Judging by what appear to be Marina wheels fitted). Yes ... Marina wheels... And I'm not mechanically minded at all... But i believe a Midget engine & gearbox. All bodywork, wood and mechanics were done 25yrs ago by Dad. We...

Re: Limeflower Traveller - Getting Zippy Back On The Road.

Hi.. Well I'm picking this up 25yrs after my Dad, a real classic car enthusiast, had 90% completed the project. He'd restored and replaced wood and panels, new engine and gear box. Basically, I have a near complete shell with the interior to assemble. We put back doors on last week. A few daily hour...

Re: Limeflower Traveller - Getting Zippy Back On The Road.

Hmmm I definitely wouldn't have chosen it at 17yo, but it was gift. I was given the option to change it when wood and panels were replaced & restored, but even then I just wanted to keep him as he was. Now though, yes I do, I like that it's a less popular and unusual colour. Kinda cool to be unc...

Limeflower Traveller - Getting Zippy Back On The Road.

Way back in 1989 for my 17th birthday my parents bought me my first car, a Limeflower 1971 Morris Minor Traveller. I stuck the L Plates on and I learned to drive in my new old car. I called him Zippy!! Two years later, I took the car off the road for renovation. Family circumstances forced the partl...
