Re: Euphemisms

The Nissan flashes up a warning on the dash if you get too close to the car in front, ignoring the warning apparently causes the car to slow down until the gap is reinstated. If the car in front brakes heavily so will the Nissan apparently automatically put the hazard lights on and not rear end the ...

How many of us do you imagine drive cars with "automatic braking" though
Which is why I said "when it becomes the norm". My wife's 2 year old Nissan has it as does my son's 3 year old Skoda, therefore I think it is coming more quickly than we think.

Re: Euphemisms

These days I spend a lot of time on the M6, M61 and M60. Taking them in order M6 very few broken down cars, M61 same, M60 same. M6 1 maybe 2 crashes a week on the bit I use M61 same M60 constant almost daily usually in the 3rd lane. Audi or BMW stuffed in the back of another Audi or BMW. M60 (smart ...

Ahh many a good day had removing parts from the car on top of two others! Where did it all go wrong?
At least we had them days, before it all went silly.
Memories of Saturday mornings back when I could climb on to the bonnet of one car to get to another without making peculiar noises. 😊

Re: New member and quick question!

Halfords classic oil is the one I use, I'm told it's Castrol in a Halfords tin and that Wilkinson's 20/50 is the same and the cheapest of the three. Having looked at all three they look the same but that doesn't of course mean they are.

Re: A little shocked

What gets me with the price of classics is alot seem to get snapped up by dealers and then inflated. Pet hate of mine. There's a convertible made from a saloon doing the rounds at the moment, very shiny body but also very scruffy engine bay. It was for sale at £11995 for months on a web site, sold ...

Just seen an advertisement offering to build better than new travellers using "Heritage bare metal shells" for just under £20k. That's great I thought finally heritage shells available, think of all the welding it saves. :D Turns out the devil is in the detail and it is an offer to rebuild a car usi...

Re: Yet another dodgy ID on eBay

On another club forum I am a member of this issue has been a problem due to v5 documents for a particular model which has a far higher value than other models being advertised, the body shells are identical so you can see the attraction. The response from eBay is provided the seller states it is sold...

Re: CSL415 V5 and VIN plate.

Best off having a thread/post of logbook's for sale, whereby, we copy the details from it & members can type in - whatever info is available ie. registration/engine/chassis number - using the "search" facility, details will ping up AS a logbook previously for sale Totally agree there needs to be so...

I always worry about earliest and latest claims because I know if I bought such a car an older or newer one would turn up within about a week making mine just another car.

Hang on, you paid DOUBLE the required fee to use a space and the council said if you did it again the fine would stay? After 30 years in local government I'm sad to say in many areas a council are no longer there to help the community but to punish people where by doing so income generation has bee...

Re: Expensive Traveller at Aston Workshop.

A car for somebody with the money and not prepared to wait for a fresh restoration at £24-£26k from one of the big restoration people?

I seem to remember a trafalgar blue traveller selling for around £23k at brightwells auction a few months back.
