Re: Introduction - and a question
It may help to speak to millennium minors in chorlton (South Manchester). Could also be worth you contacting the Manchester Branch as one of the committee live on the north side so may know the car. I'd offer to have a look at it with you but not sure when I'm next back in Manchester.

Re: Messageboard management
Some interesting comments here. Simmitic has replied to my OP, Admin has not but then he is very well known anyway so probably you will all have heard of him. Can anyone tell us about Cam, the third person listed as a moderator? According to the Board as it comes up on my screen he was last active ...

Re: Oh the irony...
In other news, the door opened to what i always thought was the spare bedrrom at my house and some hairy grunting neanderthal wandered out, rubbing his eyes. He claims he's my son... I had one of those, we had to give him a wheelbarrow full of money to help him buy his own room. He now has meals on...

Re: Cars For Sale bit
As previously said the reason for turning comments off on cars for sale was the volume and content of comments from people with no interest in buying the car but felt the need to comment. Some of these comments caused considerable problems for the club. Closing the section entirely was given serious...

Re: No comment
Blocking comments on cars for sale was a decision taken by the club committee. The club received a number of complaints from people who had advertised cars for sale and who were greatly upset by some of the comments made. It got to the point where almost every advertised car came in for a barrage of...

Re: Euphemisms
Will be interesting to see how many "incidents " are down to drivers completely ignoring the red X lane closed sign on the gantry even though it is illegal to ignore it. My experience is that countless drivers just carry on down the closed lane and nothing seems to be done.

Programme tonight 7.30pm on BBC North West about smart motorways being dangerous. Guessing the M60 will feature quite strongly.

Re: Euphemisms
The Nissan flashes up a warning on the dash if you get too close to the car in front, ignoring the warning apparently causes the car to slow down until the gap is reinstated. If the car in front brakes heavily so will the Nissan apparently automatically put the hazard lights on and not rear end the ...

Which is why I said "when it becomes the norm". My wife's 2 year old Nissan has it as does my son's 3 year old Skoda, therefore I think it is coming more quickly than we think.ManyMinors wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 2:33 pm How many of us do you imagine drive cars with "automatic braking" though

Re: Euphemisms
These days I spend a lot of time on the M6, M61 and M60. Taking them in order M6 very few broken down cars, M61 same, M60 same. M6 1 maybe 2 crashes a week on the bit I use M61 same M60 constant almost daily usually in the 3rd lane. Audi or BMW stuffed in the back of another Audi or BMW. M60 (smart ...

Re: New member and quick question!
Halfords classic oil is the one I use, I'm told it's Castrol in a Halfords tin and that Wilkinson's 20/50 is the same and the cheapest of the three. Having looked at all three they look the same but that doesn't of course mean they are.

Re: A little shocked
What gets me with the price of classics is alot seem to get snapped up by dealers and then inflated. Pet hate of mine. There's a convertible made from a saloon doing the rounds at the moment, very shiny body but also very scruffy engine bay. It was for sale at £11995 for months on a web site, sold ...

Heritage bare metal shells
Just seen an advertisement offering to build better than new travellers using "Heritage bare metal shells" for just under £20k. That's great I thought finally heritage shells available, think of all the welding it saves. :D Turns out the devil is in the detail and it is an offer to rebuild...

Re: Yet another dodgy ID on eBay
On another club forum I am a member of this issue has been a problem due to v5 documents for a particular model which has a far higher value than other models being advertised, the body shells are identical so you can see the attraction. The response from eBay is provided the seller states it is sold...

Re: CSL415 V5 and VIN plate.
Best off having a thread/post of logbook's for sale, whereby, we copy the details from it & members can type in - whatever info is available ie. registration/engine/chassis number - using the "search" facility, details will ping up AS a logbook previously for sale Totally agree there ...
