Gearbox front cover
I need to take the engine out of my 1970 MM 1000 Traveller and would like to solve/reduce the oil leak from the gearbox front cover, whilst the engine is out.
Can the gearbox front cover be replaced with the gearbox still in the place?

Re: Pre MOT check
Thanks, Murryminor for the reference to the government pages to the MOT test. I do carry out my own servicing and repair and it was during this process that I identified so many issues with the brakes and suspension on my car (with 11 consecutive - no advisory mot passes, during previous ownership) ...

Pre MOT check
I am not a fan of MOT testing for Historic vehicles but like the idea of an experienced mechanic checking the structural integrity and general safety of my cars regularly. Does anyone ask a mechanic to carry out a pre MOT test to identify work that may need to be carried out?

Re: Members Area Permissions.
Hi Louise, not only is the club spares section out of date but other sections either need to be updated or pruned to tidy up the web pages. I only asked Rasputin to open the club spares section to check if the page was working. There are some sections that could be useful or even essential such as G...

Re: Members Area Permissions.
Thanks for letting me know. The members area used to work when a user name and password was printed in Minor Matters but does not work since the new web pages have been released. It's interesting that Rasputin can see something, so he has permissions set but les is also denied permission, clearly th...

Members Area Permissions.
I have been trying to read the posts in the 'Members Area' of the Message Board since the new web pages were released but despite the efforts of Cameron Shaw and Liza (admin) I still do not have permission to view the content of the 'Members Area' :( Is anyone getting access to this area or is the w...

Re: Discounted Parts
Thanks for the responses. It would appear that the main suppliers of parts don't have a 'sale' period such as Moss do currently, so I may have to shop around and hope to spot an offer. I have used the club spares for some items but the stock is limited and some items that I need are not available.

Discounted Parts
Hi, l am new to the MMOC forum and so please forgive me if this question has been asked before. Now that the classic car show season is drawing to a close, I am planning on spending some money on the seats, brakes, suspension and gearbox of my 1970 Traveller, that I have owned for a few months. So t...

Re: Mystery object 2
We lived in a council house built in 1955 that had three of these installed. One by the side of the fireplace for the gas poker, one in the lobby next to a galvanised boiler (a bit like a poss tub) and one in the kitchen by the gas cooker. The design was similar to yours but perhaps a little more mo...
