Re: Here's a new one.

I arrived into the work car park the other day to see a colleagues Merc boot open. When mentioned to him, after a few choice words he said it kept opening from the remote in his pocket when he moved about! Also said it had opened one night it rained and soaked everything inside  Well at least ...

Re: Varnish for oak work tops ?

Sounds good! I wouldn't use anything else apart from an oil of some sort on real wood worktops. Prob best to go over it every year or so with the same stuff

Re: Carpet adheshive

Yes just get a can of contact adhesive, one should be enough. Just glue the strips down, but be sparing with it, then if you need to pull the carpets up then it won't take much to pull them up. Then the main carpets I just simply placed down. Hope this helps!

Traveller roof timber??

Hi, I'm about to fit my roof up.
I have a timber above the rear doors
I have a timber what fixes to the cab roof
Am I supposed to have two support rails what go across the roof? Because I have cut outs in the top of the side panels what look as if a rail fixes into them?
Thanks, matt

Wiring rear light traveller

Hi, the previous owner cut the wires back to the petrol tank, so I'm trying to work out what goes where. I have 5 wires - I found one that goes to the petrol tank, leaving me with 4 wires. I assume one goes to left indicator Then one to right indicator One to brake lights One to sidelights- think it...

Re: Painting a Minor. How cheap, how long?

Yes I use a makeshift spray booth on the farm where my lockup is, with a massive compressor. But to be honest a cheap 25 litre compressor will do the job and will set you back about £80- £120 ( screw fix has a good Stanley one). Spray gun- mines a devilbiss ( best make you can buy ) and se me back £...

Re: Painting wheels - undercoating??

Defiantly use a primer as undercoat- better finish, and it will make your life so much easier! I just done my wheels over Christmas. -Masked the tyres up, ( tip I found was to let the air out first- then you can spray the lip up properly, and when you inflate it with air, you loose the rugged edge w...

Traveller parts help sourcing

Hi, I'm after all the rear traveller glass channels/ rubbers/ weatherstrips etc to fit up on my new wood ( be a shame to try and reuse all the old worn out parts) but I'm having trouble trying to find them, any ideas where to look? Also I'm after new rear roof gutters- which I have sourced from bull...

Traveller wood fitting

Hi, I have oiled up all my new wood and am about to start fitting it. Just wondering if anyone has any tips and advice on fitting it all up? - I'm thinking that it best to use a silicone or mastic type sealer for where the b piller bolts up, and along the bottom to seal up joint between any wood and...

Re: Morris for my First Car?

Yes defiantly sort out insurances befor buying a car. When I was 17 I realy struggled with classic insurance, a lot of companies have a over 21 policy for classic insurance. But if you look around you will find someone that will insure you. :D

Re: Morris for my First Car?

Yes go for it! I'm 21 and have 13, or 14 cars now, the newest is 1992 and the oldest is 1964, I've never had a proper breakdown yet, and to be honest I hate anything new! If you do start off with a classic, then you will at least know how to drive a proper car- who needs abs, power steering, central...
