Re: Fuel line question

There was a slight seepage, but that stopped when I tighted it a bit further. I thought of using some plumbers' PTFE tape but wasn't sure whether it would stand up to being in contact with petrol.

Fuel line question

I have just fitted a new fuel line, but I think air is getting in at the tank end because the pump is pumping furiously. I've tightened the brass screw-in connector to the tank as tight as I dare, but it already takes a fair amount of force to turn it and I don't want to damage the thread. I tried p...

Re: Insurance (again)

Well RH Insurance really IS fantastic - I've just bought fully comp with breakdown cover for £76!!! And to think Lancaster told me I wouldn't find a cheaper quote than their £148. Thanks again for your recommendations.

Re: Insurance (again)

Thanks, I'll get a quote from both of them. I used Lancaster last time, but this time they quoted just under £150 which is much more than it was just two years ago.

Insurance (again)

I know this has been discussed MANY times on here, but I'm about to get my Minor back on the road after two years SORNed, so I need to get it insured (with breakdown cover), and as these things change all the time I thought it was ok to start a new thread. So, any recommendations? (At 52 I'm not a y...

Well remembered, Spartan, and welcome to the forum! Amazingly (or not), 284 UPH is still on the road and taxed until April next year!

Re: Goodbye taxdisc - or not!

And, as the 'big two' are just two sides of the same coin these days, don't think a change of colour in Downing Street will change anything, red or blue, they're just out for themselves!! Not wishing to drag politics into the MMOC forum, but...I wouldn't go THAT far - there are big differences in p...

Re: front wheel bearings

Yes, you need an inner and outer bearing and a seal per front wheel. I would strongly recommend you go with the SKF brand because they have been tried and tested by people on this forum. Don't just get ones that are the right size because they are not likely to be the 40° face adjusted variety, whic...

Goodbye taxdisc - or not!

Today will be the last day you can get a tax disc as they will be abolished tomorrow (1st October). BUT, if displaying tax discs is no longer a legal requirement does this mean we can display a 50s/60s tax disc without getting into trouble? If so, I shall be displaying one that expired in 1963 when ...

Thanks Katy. Well I can't imagine a situation where my Morris wheels will be spinning at more than 17,000RPM so I'll go for the much cheaper ones! :D

Re: front wheel bearings

I'm about to replace my front bearings, but am a little confused as to the suggestions for SKF 40° face adjusted bearings; The following have been suggested on this thread, and as far as I can see there is no difference except in price - a BIG difference! 7205BEP - Inner 7303BEP - Outer and 7205BECB...

Re: front wheel bearings

i've also had a problem obtaining a good set of front wheel bearings. I bought some from Bull Motif and they had lots of 'play', so six months later I bought some from ESM, but they had the same problem. When I phoned them they said it was normal for Minors to have some movement in the bearings. I p...
