Re: Perhaps a more serious subject though for anyone targeted!

A lot of classic cars are also being stolen for use in "Vintage" banger racing. They strip the car of its parts and sell them, then paint the shell and race it. This happened to someone who writes for Practical Classics a few years ago.

Re: Morris Minor Adsa

It must be stolen. Nobody abandons cars these days, least of all a classic, when scrap value is so high. The only other answer is if the owner was taken seriously ill (or worse) whilst shopping in the supermarket.

Re: RE SPOTTED TODAY INFRINGEMENT OF PRIVACY

How would it be if we started a "Blond spotted 19y/o today". Alan That is totally different and you know it! You are NOT your car, and vice versa. If we were posting pictures of people without their knowledge then I would agree with you, but we're not, and as far as I can remember in the ...

Re: RE SPOTTED TODAY INFRINGEMENT OF PRIVACY

I too can't see what the problem is. Should we not look at other people's cars in case we invade their privacy? It's not like we give an exact address of where the car was spotted, and in some cases the car will be seen by hundreds of passers-by every day. Perhaps those deeply concerned with privacy...

Re: Spotted today.

DVLA has the colour registered as pink, but as far as its original colour goes is anyone's guess.

Alan - eh?! 80-odd pages of people posting pictures of other people's Minors and you complain about the ones I posted!!! Anyway, it IS actually chained to the ground.

Spotted on Monday 18th August at about 12pm. I was on top of Mam Tor near Castleton and heard the familiar A-series sound on those steep inclines.[frame]Image[/frame]

Re: Trunnions - a warning!!!

That's a HIGHLY modified suspension you have there! The problem is that the pin you are trying to remove has 'shoulders' which is why you can't knock it out as it is, and it looks like that suspension arm has been welded together with the trunnion in place, making it impossible to remove unless you ...

Blimey - I wasn't expecting a reply to a post i made four years ago! I can't see your pictures because it's asking me to log in to your Tumblr account. You can post pictures directly onto your messages on this forum. However, my guess is that it sounds as if you haven't separated the two halves of t...

Re: Tyre pressures

Too high - my thoughts exactly, which is why I asked. I used to put 30psi all round when I ran on 145R14 tyres so I'll drop them to that and see how it goes.

Re: Tyre pressures

I recently had a set of Nankang 155R14 tyres fitted, and the garage that put them on for me inflated them to 35psi. I don't know if this is too high but they look and feel right.

Floppy wipers

The wipers on my '62 Minor have become very floppy and have lots of 'play', which means they overshoot the sides of the windscreen and when they go down again they slap the windscreen rubber, where notches are beginning to form. Is it just the wiper arm spindle gear? Or is it the drive cable? Or both?

Re: Radial Tyres

Having read the positive feedback about Nankang 155R14 tyres on this thread I decided to purchase a set from Camskill. They arrived the next day and are now on my Minor - what a transformation! The steering is light and responsive and it's like driving a new car. Admittedly they did replace a set of...
