Re: Ginger bush
Good news and bad. The good news is the ginger bush obviously likes this warm weather and is sprouting well, so much that I think it needs a trim. The bad news is the Purple morning glory doesn't look too good in fact it looks decidedly droopy and limp perhaps some chemical enhancement may be benefi...

Great news it seems the ginger bush has started growing again. It seems to like the Purple morning glory I planted next to it.

Re: Sleeping in the hot weather
I thought about dispensing of my pyjamas altogether and just wearing my thong but have just remembered I put it on two weeks ago and haven't seen it since.

Anyone got some tips on how to keep cool sleeping in the night. Ive already undone the top button of my Winceyette pyjamas but hasn't made a lot of difference.

Re: Our other hobbies and passions
Thanks for the post olderisbetter. Yes I did make the stained glass obelisk I made a frame from 5mm copper pipe then attached brass came with lead inserts and built it up from there. Its about 5ft high and sits in my garden powered by solar lights at night. Don't know why the photo came out side way...

My wife has now read it and I'm in deep poo poo mind you I'm always in it it's just the depth that varies. She says that she cannot now go to any Morris Minor events as everyone will be asking...

Ginger bush
Do we have any gardeners who can help my wife with her ginger bush. It has started to curl up and doesn't look very happy. She may have been cutting it too severely or over watering it. I'm sure we must have some expert gardeners in the club.

I shall be there. It's the first one I've been to after only getting my car last August. Will be there for both days. Well I ought to really as I only live 5 miles away.

Re: Seat foam replacement
I renewed the front seats of my panda with a kit from ESM. When I stripped the covers off I found that the original rubber diaphragms were still in place and were in excellent condition so I left them in place. Whether they were made tougher for large bottoms I don't know but they have certainly don...

Are the new ones made of the same material i.e. Mazak if so given a few years they will start to pit. I don't think the plastic ones are available.

Tried all the electrical connections and they seem fine so have bitten the bullet and bought a new pump, an SU with the old style contacts. Will be fitting it tomorrow.

Just taken the pipe off from the carb, turned the ignition on, no sound from the pump so looks like a new pump.

Re: engine starts then stops
No theres no misfiring it just increases the revs slightly then cuts out. The fuel pump is 15 years old is this due for a change or do they carry on working for longer than this.

engine starts then stops
Just tried to start the car. It starts and runs for about 30 seconds, the revs increase slightly then it cuts out. Leave it for a few minutes and it does the same thing again. Any one any ideas ?

Thank you so much for that. After looking at the video I realised what I was doing wrong. I was pulling instead of pushing. Insert now in and looking very smart. Once again my thanks.
