Re: Panda Cars

I cannot be certain what the various county forces fitted their cars with but The Metropolitan police started using Morris minors in 1968 with F suffix registrations. I have the car that I drove brand new out of Surbiton police station in April 1968. The cars were used as ' unit beat cars' and were ...

Re: New member saying "Hello"

The very first Minors to be used by the Police were used by the Lancashire constabulary. They were Black and White hence the name Panda and the name stuck even though the later ones were Blue and White.

Re: New member saying "Hello"

It's a genuine 1968 Ex Metropolitan police panda. It's the actual car that I drove brand new out of Surbiton police station in April 1968 as a serving police officer. I have a certificate of a factory record from The British Motor industry Heritage trust giving the build date as 23rd to 29th January...

Re: New member saying "Hello"

I had a lot of people riding in the back of my Panda, most of them not on their own free will.

My Panda has a really loud parp. I think the silencer must be made of recycled baked bean cans

Re: What we did in the lockdown

I have been busy in the greenhouse looking after a certain coloured bush. It is starting to sprout again and I have been giving it some tender loving care.

Practical classics

Has anybody else noticed that Practical Classics has voted the Morris Minor the number one ultimate classic.

Re: Coronavirus - classic delivery OK?

Isn't it wonderful that we can criticise and castigate our police force without fear of retribution unlike some other countries, and thank goodness for bent coppers without whom we would not have half the television dramas.

Traveller rear luggage cover

I'd like to fit some form of cover for the rear luggage compartment of my traveller. Some one must have done this before so any advise would be welcome.

No key

I haven't got a key to lock the back doors on my traveller. How easy is it to dismantle the locking mechanism to find out what the key number is which I assume is stamped on the square shaft or do I keep trying different keys till I find the right one.

Boot lock key

I have a key for the ignition and the drivers door and one for the passenger side door. Neither of these keys fit the boot so at the moment I am unable to lock the boot. Should one of these keys fit the boot lock or is it a separate key. There is no number on the lock.

Re: Manifolds

If the manifold stamped 12A 4141 is the correct one for a 1098cc engine then what does the one stamped 12G 3538 fit ? They both look the same to me.
