Re: Clever way to sell a log book

I don't believe either I or AMPWHU confused these two. Ampwhu is talking about obtaining cars to sell on the reg numbers, that's perfectly legal and the cars can live on with an age related reg number, selling the vin and v5c only kills the donor car and probably kills the cloned cars chances of ev...

Re: Clever way to sell a log book

Taking the reg from an old car and buying a log book to ring another car really shouldn't be confused even if you are one of these people that doesn't like plates being changed.

Re: 57 Saloon, rotten!

Changed the front door glass to door seals for these modern upgrade ones and they are much better, no glass rattling any more but the rears are going to be a pain to swap, I'm going to change the lot including the quarter light seals at a later date. https://s1.postimg.org/11b2yc9mhb/20171103_183556...

Re: Trying new rear bearings. How much play?

The funny thing is I don't think they are cheap chinese ones, they've got quite a strange inner casing holding the balls in place.

Re: Trying new rear bearings. How much play?

I've fitted new rear bearings as part of my rebuild, they have a bit of play when rocking the wheel, they have play in them when just sat in your hand, but, they aren't causing any issues, no noises, so I'll leave them be.

Re: 57 Saloon, rotten!

Ah never thought about the filling hole, that's why you forum experts are worth your weight in gold!

Is the fill level the same so I could engrave a mark in the casing before swapping to then make a dip stick as firedrake says?
