Rosie is up for sale (not Hamilton)
http://mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=60712&p=559738#p559738 As we said on the above posting, she was in great condition in 2013 when she was finished and we'd love her to go to a good home who will keep her on the register! Happy to answer any questions about the restoration but most of th...

Re: Ex-Police Panda Traveller
A little bit more work done....[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1424374396_405 [/frame] Rear bumper is off, surprisingly hard on a rotten car, not enough support to undo the bumper nuts. The two nuts that go into the panels at the end of the wing were rounded. In the end I managed to undo ...

Re: Traveller closing panel
That's brilliant, thanks Taupe for the picture . When the wood goes on does t sit on the little ledge that's visible between the B post and inner wing?

Traveller closing panel
Hi, When taking the wings off of our rotten traveller the closing panel that goes between the B-pillar and the rear wing under the wood just dropped off and looked like it had only been held on with screws. Is this correct? Given that the rear wings were nailed on in some places and holes in the inn...

Re: Ex-Police Panda Traveller
First registered in Wolverhampton just around the time they changed from being Wolverhampton Police to West Midlands. Originally bought as a standard black traveller for use as a Sergeants car he was resprayed on the outside in panda colours so will be blue and white outside and black with a red int...

Re: Engine problem.
I had a similar problem a few years ago, turned out that the jet head on the carb was ever so slightly misaligned, not a problem when cold but once it warmed up the carb stuck solid and the car would cut out. When it cooled down again it started and ran fine. Took me ages to work it out!

Re: Traveller rear roof
Bermuda blue, white cab roof and doors and a black and red interior just to be fully authentic for this car :) It started as a black standard sergeants car and then was given an exterior respray into panda colours :) I've started a restoration thread http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=5...

Re: Traveller rear roof
Sadly when I said rotten I meant it, the rear boot floor is pretty much missing, the inner wing extensions have rotted through and there isn't much in the way of sills either. By getting the wooden frame level I can use itas a guide for where to let new metal in!

Ex-Police Panda Traveller
Our Ex-wolverhampton Police Traveller is finally in the garage ready for strip down and restoration. He is almost completely rotten and going to be quite a challenge so I'll be going slowly, doing lots of measuring and asking lots of questions! Todays job was recording some details before starting t...

Traveller rear roof
So, I'm just getting started on our rotten traveller, the back has rotted enough that the wooden frame has sunk down at the back so I've jacked it up. Should the rear roof section be level, I've used a spirit level on the roof and it looks right, providing it is then I can use the wood as a guide fo...

Anyone restored a wolseley 16/60/oxford mk6/austin a60/riley
Having started to do a little welding on our wolseley 16/60 ready for this years MOT I'm finding lots of filler jobs :( There have been so many dodgy jobs that I'm not sure whether the following is correct or not. The boot floor stops at the inner sill and there was foam strip between it and the out...

Making a replica Met police roofbox
I've had a couple of pm's about how I made mine, sorry it's taken so long to respond and I thought I might as well make it a full post. I got the measurements from a nice chap in Australia who owns an ex-met car and they are as follows.. The box is 430mm long,x 153mm high It is 110mm wide at the top...

Re: Thinking of getting and modifiying a Minor
Of course another alternative if you want to lower very easily (doesn't give the wide wheels though) is to fit the 13" rims from an austin A35. Our old neighbour had done that on his minor.

Re: 1970 Morris ex Police Car
Bermuda Blue (BU40) is readily available, when we did our Ex-Met panda we used BMC glacier white for the doors (can't remember the paint code) which was spot on. OH just pointed out that if you are going back to Panda colours the Devon and Cornwall cars had a white front half of the roof (at least t...
