Re: fuel tank blockage

Yes the pipe almost touches the bottom of the tank and the strainer is wrapped around it.
I had a rusty tank and had to cut off the strainer which revealed the pipe.
I relined my petrol tank with POR15 tank sealer after cleaning it out.

Re: Is it just me or does it happen to you?

I was out in the Morris again today and driving in a 20 mph zone with speed bumps when all of a sudden a moped rider over took me on the inside. He nearly had to ride up the pavement, I was lucky I saw him coming and I moved out to the centre of the road. WHY over take me on the inside, It would of ...

Is it just me or does it happen to you?

I use my Morris almost every day and the past few weeks I have been tailgated, had cars pull out of side turnings right on top of me and overtaking me in 20 mph zones over speed bumps. The other day I gave way to on coming traffic when a car tried to drive around me and blocked the road up. I never ...

Re: Stolen XBU911

The importance of having a disklok even inside a garage, put the steering on full lock and put on the disklok.

I hope they catch the low life and string him up by his nuts. Fingers crossed it turns up somewhere.

Re: S U fuel pump clicking?

Thanks for the replies.
I took my 78 year young father out in it the other day and he said he didn't think it should click like that. But the last time he drove a morris van was about 50 years ago
And he couldn't remember it.
I will let him know. Maybe it was his pacemaker clicking LOL.

S U fuel pump clicking?

I'm relatively new to Morris ownership but was wondering if my fuel pump is clicking too often. When i'm driving along at around 30mph in top gear it seems to click every second or so like a clock is that normal or is it clicking too often? If I pull away from stationary it will click really fast th...

Diff top up plug

I wanted to check the oil in the diff but im having a lot of trouble trying to get the bolt undone. I have a square socket but it just wont undo. I have even put my impact gun on it without luck. Any ideas please. I have been lying on my back under the car so there is not much leverage. And I just h...

Tech 7 alarm

I would recommend this alarm as its easy to fit with just 2 wires going to the battery. It has current sensing which works well. When I open the door the interior light sets it off. Also motion sensing. And also has a flashing led. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tech-7-12v-Motorcycle-Scooter-ATV-Remote-...

Re: Parcel shelf

I lifted the bonnet up and found the holes that hold the parcel shelf but they are missing the rivets so I will use nuts and bolts to hold it up.

Cheers

I will keep it as it is, as least I won't get a speeding ticket as I always keep to the limit, although I get a lot of plebs tail gating me.

Re: Speedometer packed up

Thanks for the replies, I have taken off my speedo cable and for some reason it is 3 inches longer than standard, I know it wont make any difference to the ratio but at least I have a working speedo now. It was strange that the inner cable never broke when the speedo locked up but I have just gone f...

Parcel shelf

This has probably been asked before but I can't find it. How is the parcel shelf held in at the front? My parcel shelf has a folded lip with holes along it but there are no holes to screw it onto. I don't want to start drilling holes, but the parcel shelf is drooping at the front and I want to find ...

Re: Speedometer packed up

I have just looked at the speedo it has 1378 or 1376 on it. I have a bog standard 1964 saloon 1098 engine unmodified but I think the speedometer may have been changed in its lifetime. would that make it out by 10 mph.? I was doing 60 mph and looked at my satnav and it was showing 50 mph, about 36 is...

Also my speedo is 10mph out. What is the correct speedo. There seems to be different ones.
I have a 1098 engine. Not sure what ratio the speedometer should be.

Speedometer packed up

I was driving home today and the speedo stopped working. I got the speedo out and the inner cable is ok. I put a screwdriver in the square slot on the speedo and the speedo is solid. Is there any way of oiling the speedo? I managed to turn the square slot a few times with the screwdriver but its sti...

Re: Petrol Tank sender unit

If you have a mismatch tank sender then you need one of these. It can match any sender to any gauge.
