Re: Lowlight with demister vents?

Hello My MM Tourer, just to the south of Maidstone, was on the road in October 1950, no heater, no water pump although the plate is there, and no vents. There is another Tourer in Maidstone which is identical but on the road in the December 1950. I would guess the cars were actually manufactured in ...

Re: valve cotters

Yes, My mate Geoff with an MM two months newer than mine have jointly agreed that taking the engine out makes life much easier. But we double and triple check all the gaps and ensure all is tightened well before putting the engine back in. I also have an engine lift which helps!

Re: Romain green paint code

Hi My car was found in a shed and had apparently been there for some 20 odd years. This agrees with the tax discs passed on when purchasing it. It looks green, is pitted over around half of the panels, some of the verticals are good but that doesn't matter as I shall not respray it, I like it as is....

MM screen chrome inserts

Hi
The chrome inserts/add ons on the windscreen have developed minds of their own and are no longer fixed to the rubbers. Has anyone found a suitable glue/adhesive to re-stick them back on?

Re: Rotodip System

The rotodip system started to be used in july 1950 (google "rotodip"). It was really a phosphating system, with the addition of the rotation to cover all surfaces. The great benefit was that the insides and outsides of the body were uniformly coated with a coating that did not rust. So, my...

Re: Water inlet castings for side of Sidevalve engine

Ref the ally water pipe on side of MM engine. I have two of these but both are getting debatable so when in ESM recently I asked and was told they have asked their ally casters for an up-to-date price. They said "don't hold your breath"!! I cannot imagine there is much of a market for thes...

Re: Sidevalve Replacement Engine Colour

Pete I purchased a MM engine from our Club earlier this year and it was yellow where paint remained. It also has a recon plate on it. I think the correct colour for the MM engine is battleship grey/blue. I haven't attacked the engine with new paint yet as I was keen to check out it working first. Do...

Re: spigot bush for sale?

Hello
The spigot bush for the MM engine is exactly the same size as for the pre war Morris 8. You might find more Morris 8 s in Denmark than MMs. That is how I purchased one recently here in UK.

Firedrake
Yes, very interested in your NMP plate work. Well done.
Please put my name down for one. I think I would be glueing it on.
Any ideas of where they were fixed on the MM? Is there an MM with one still attached? Mine's a september 1950 soft top.

Re: Chroming stainless.

Rob Have been meaning to reply to this for some time. Chroming stainless commercially is really rather pointless. Stainless is relatively expensive and one is just adding more cost for not much reward. The decorative effect is the difference in "colour". If you put plated chrome next to st...
