Grille Badges

Just thinking about grille badges and wondering what, if any, you guys have?

If you do have them, are you particular about the era? For example an AA grille badge number matching the year of your car?

Be interested to see what you all have!

Re: trafficators sticking.

No, the lenses are vey easy to replace - just turn the trafficator on, hold up the trafficator so you can switch off the ignition again and then remove the screw at the end of the chromed arm, loosen the screw which clamps the lens near the hinge part and the lens can then be pulled out. New lenses...

Re: Morris 1000 Doors

Les and Islip...i agree, it seemed such a ridiculous amount that my initial thought was that garage number 2 didn't really want the job.

I think that repairing the doors is my favoured option. Plus i can get some other jobs done with the rather large saving i would of made!!!

Re: Morris 1000 Doors

I guess it depends how bad it is. Do you have any photos? I got rust in the bottom of one of the doors on our Traveller and the local body shop I use managed to repair it so well that no one would ever know there had ever been a problem. As a bonus the door actually fitted better after the repair t...

Re: Morris 1000 Doors

£1000 for each door :o . Lucky your car isn't a 4door model! I agree with Phil. Repair panels are available to repair your original doors. If this work is carried out correctly and rustproofing carried out the doors will probably fit better than any replacement doors will. New doors are not readily...

Re: Morris 1000 Doors

Firstly we need to see some pictures showing the condition of the doors before giving a considered opinion. There are repair panels for the doors available from the main suppliers. Personally I would if possible use repair panels and re-spray. I am not aware that new doors are available so if repla...

Re: trafficators sticking.

Hi guys. You were very helpful before, so hope you can help once again. My car is a 1958 2 door Morris Minor 1000. One of my trafficators wont go back down when I cancel. I suspect A bit of oil on the moving parts might solve this problem, but as I'm not very mechanically minded, I thought I'd seek...

Morris 1000 Doors

Hi All, We have some rust (!) on the bottom of the driver and passenger doors. We have been to 2 different classic car garages to see how to repair the doors. The first garage said that the doors should be replaced and re-sprayed - costing £1,000 for each door. The second garage said the doors can b...

Hi, I have a 1962 Morris 1000 which i am slowly restoring. I am really keen to restore to as original condition as possible. Does anyone have any ideas about the following - - it is smoke grey colour, should my coach line match the interior colour? Currently it is white, which i have a feeling is in...

Correct Number Plate Style

Hi, I have a 1962 Morris 1000 and it is need of new number plates. Firstly, are there any details, such as digit size or colour that i need to be aware of for the sake of authenticity? Secondly, where is the best place to purchase the plates? I have spoken to Ace Plates in Ireland, but they seem qui...

Re: 1961 Quarter Lights

Thank you very much, the weekend project will be fitting new quarter lights!

Has anyone had any experience of painting the stainless steel quarter lights? I have had varying responses from friends, ranging from 'you can't' to 'it works great!'

Thanks!

1961 Quarter Lights

Hi all,

How easy is it to replace both the quarter lights?
If you have new ones, can they be sprayed to the colour of your car or are they only available (new) in chrome?

Thanks!

simmitc wrote: Thu Mar 29, 2018 8:46 pm Welcome to the forum. You could get a piece of similar material and glue it behind the tear. Very few tapes will stick to the headlining but a good quality adhesive will work. It will never look perfect, but find for a short term fix. good luck.
Thank you!

My Morris has a couple of small to medium tears in the headlining. Eventually i will replace with new headlining, however does anyone have any ideas for a temporary fix?
