Re: Recommendations for restoration companies

Tim Lang are based in Somerset. It doesn’t say on their website if they do paint work but if they don’t they will probably be able to recommend someone.Have you contacted your local MMOC branch. They can sometimes make good suggestions.

Re: Over heating

Hi Guys Another update. I drove 167 miles to the National Rally on Friday and Audrey didn’t miss a beat.We even got stuck in some traffic and her temperature gauge although it went up which is what I would expect it to do it didn’t affect her performance. The pipe that was mentioned does get hot so t...

Re: Over heating

Thank you for all the info .I should have said that the car came with an alternator so therefore not entirely standard.Sometimes I forget because these things are just there.I also have full electronic ignition as well. The radiator is newish and hasn’t lost any liquid at all.I don’t seem to need to...

Re: Over heating

Thanks for the advice. I think I have an 82 thermostat because it usually sits around that mark .The gauge is new and from a reliable source so I’m fairly confident it’s working properly. As I’m not mechanically minded I’ve just had her MOTed and serviced so hopefully they might have picked up on the...

Over heating

I have a standard 1967 Saloon with an after market temperature gauge fitted. Recently I took part in a parade where I was travelling in first gear stop start for about 3 miles. This sent the temperature gauge up to 95oC .To try and bring the temperature down slightly we opened all the windows and pus...

Re: Horn Push Problem

Hi Guys So the update is I’ve tried the things suggested and it basically hasnt worked.I found a different horn push in my tool box and tried that same problem. One thing I noticed is the wire that comes through the middle of the steering column is rather short. The plastic shroud and spring fit on bu...

Horn Push Problem

Steering wheel is standard but the horn fails to sound from time to time.I recently had a new plastic tube and spring fitted. I’ve tried 2 different horn pushes and they are about the same some times it sounds other times n...

Re: Naming your Minor

Re: Boot Lock problem

Hi All Happy New Year one and all. Just a quick update re my boot lock. I returned Audrey to the garage and they have fitted a new boot handle and lock free of charge. The lock mechanism broke off completely in the locked position which is why I couldn’t open it. The thing that is worrying is that t...

Re: Boot Lock problem

Hi Yes I’ve tried that.I spent about an hour fiddling the other day but it either just goes all the way round and doesn’t open or doesn’t move when in the locked position.

Wing Mirrors

So here is a question for someone. I have wing mirror on Audrey and one of them has worked loose. The rubber washer seems to have perished. This is the one that touches the wing itself. My problem is I can't tighten the nut underneath because it won't turn and the wheel is in the way. Does anyone hav...

Re: Washer Bottle Problem

Hi thanks for the suggestions.
I’m sure the jets aren’t blocked .I’m fairly sure that the one way valve in the bottle is good.
I think I need to try replacing the pipe work. It looks very old and knackered really.
I’ll let you know how I get on

Re: Washer Bottle Problem

I think there is already another in line valve near the pump as you describe. I’m wondering about the pump although I took it out and put it in some water and it shot a jet of water across the road.Could it be the pipe work .It looks very old possibly original. O well I’ll keep fiddling till I sort ...
