Re: calling the police

Sorry everyone...E scooters again. If I phone in every time I see an illegal E scooter, (happens every day) will the details always get logged down; and will the local police department potentially be awarded more officers because of the multiple public order offences? If I phone in every time I se...

Re: colour blind

Of course, being colourblind is no where as serious as becoming totally blind, or being born without sight. I was told from an early age that grass is green, and the sky is blue, and although I had no idea about the concept of colours, at least I knew what grass was, and what the sky was. I can't i...

Re: 'Smart' motorways

To be fair I now travel the length and breadth of the country in my own vehicle, a 6.5 ton recovery truck but would I do the same distance in a classic car, I doubt it very much, in fact i would steer clear of motorways for the whole of the journey if I was in my Minor. i once had sight of an offici...

Re: 'Smart' motorways

This post may throw a spanner in the works, but from a traffic management point of view I can "sort" of understand the need behind the Smart motorway thinking. The number of vehicles using any given road is increasing year on year so the powers that be have to come up with more ideas to in...

Re: New Fuel Problem

I've not been on the forum for a while and my thoughts turned to the fuelling and its possible effect on the Minor. As far as i can see regular use will not allow the fuel to absorb water so a regularly used vehicle should not have any issues. Those vehicles which are stored more than driven should ...

Re: blimey!

too good to use on the road, that puts it in the same category as my bare shell in the garage, neither will be on the road this year and I've saved over £20k into the bargain. You have to wonder who will buy it at that price, will an investor buy it to make money? doubtful as it is at the top of its...

Re: Registration and Tax question

register the vehicle in your name and place it on SORN, the registration will stay with the vehicle and the DVLA will simply update their records to show a new keeper. If you have the old V5 you could try changing the registered keeper online, it may work but if it doesn't then send the log book off...

How does this help?

John ;-)
With the rear raised the pressure forces the air to the highest point so it's easier to bleed usually left overnight.

Re: Brake bleed order?

Yes indeed I forgot to mention raising the rear of the vehicle.
It forces the air to the rear where it can be bled slowly.
Leaving the brake pedal depressed keeps some pressure in the system.

Re: Brake bleed order?

Start at the rear, the rear wheel cylinders are a bit of a strange design and allow pockets of air to sit in the cylinders. I have bled my minor as follows and it worked for me: Bleed the brakes as you would normally, starting at the rear finishing at the front, Then I sat the car overnight with the...

It is frustrating, I sat down with a cuppa to catch up only to find the site down for a couple of days.
I believe "some" club websites are run by volunteers, is this one the same? i.e. run on a voluntary basis?

It certainly looks like a well used instrument, that has played a few tunes in its time.
I have a few ukuleles in my colection which I enjoy strumming and attempting to string a song together.
Great fun.

Re: What do you make of this?

Well the manager of the garden centre says the pick up is for sale. So I'm very tempted to buy it and get it back on the road looking like a pick up again. I'm going back tomorrow to examine the chassis and what remains of the cab. How much to offer is another thing. Pick ups command big money but a...

What do you make of this?

Found in my local Garden centre
It appears to be a genuine pick up judging by the seperate chassis and cab rear but has obviously been modified slightly.

I have made enquiries to ascertain if it is for sale but up to now I have not had much luck, I may try again this afternoon.
