Re: 1953 (March) Series II Restoration

I found the same with that panel though the metal is so much thinner than the original it was easily bent. Yes I'd say radiator is original.

Re: 1953 (March) Series II Restoration

I've seen black with a blue engine before. Looks OK. Means the starter was referbished a long time ago by the dealer via lucas, a nice piece of history.

Re: Period handbook

Yes on Facelift modles, the indicator warning light was only wired up on export cars with flashing indicators. Homemaket had trafficators and so the warning light was not needed and not wired up, as on 4 door and traveller models teh trafficators could be seen to be working, on 2 door and convertibl...

Re: 1953 (March) Series II Restoration

Please keep posting, it is very interesting. I've seen a few original cars with the brown steering wheel, they are date stamped, so you can check. The date is on the back on the rim near one of the spokes joins the rim. Second hand interiors are few and far between, been looking at 1954 front seat c...

Re: Seven leaf or five leaf springs?

Series 2 s had 7 leaf rear springs. The leaves were thinner than the later traveller 7 leaf type. Saloons later got thicker 5 leaf type. So the minor 1000 5 leaf type will be direct replacements.

Hi there, welcome to the world of Series-II ownership! Do make sure that you order the correct water pump if it still has the 803cc engine.
