Ignition light when idling
Hello :) My first (of many) questions. :D I’ve just taken my Minor out for its first proper drive and I’ve noticed something odd. When I start the car with the choke (at idle) the ignition light goes out, after a while of driving when I put the choke back in it comes on again. However, when I rev th...

They look nice but I can't really see muchMick Lynch wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 3:31 pm Nice.hope you enjoy it.
Also good to see a car with the wing mirrors still on the wings.
Plus the driver's seat needs new padding or webbing or something so I'm a bit low down to even see the passenger side mirror.

Introducing my new car...
Hey guys, Just introducing my new car :D c57140f0-2cb0-4cee-b446-58247b18ad06.jpeg 67b1eea4-70d7-46cb-8d46-f32e424593ab.jpeg He arrived this morning and is very lovely. He's a bit of a 'use and improve' example... but he's a second car so that's all good. First thing on the agenda is an oil change a...

Re: Taxing
Thanks for the replies. I am acquiring a car this week. The car is currently taxed and MOT’d, but I believe these days the tax doesn’t carry over. I’ll have the little V5 slip, so I guess I can just renew online

Taxing
Forgive me if this is obvious...
I appreciate the minor is tax exempt, but does one have to go through the motions of taxing it and it costs nothing or do you just pretend tax isn’t a thing?
Thanks,
James

Re: Second Opinion on Car Ad
" I'm sure if you post a link to the ad there are plenty of people here who will give you their thoughts..... " and maybe beat you to it... John ;-) I was also being discreet as it has a club sticker in the window. I wouldn't want anyone to think I'm questioning their integrity

Second Opinion on Car Ad
Hello :) I've been dutifully looking at cars for a little while and there's one I quite like the look of. Would anyone with more knowledge than me mind taking a look over the advert to tell me if there are any red flags I'm missing? I understand of course that an advert and photos can hide a multitu...

Re: Budget
I really appreciate everyone's replies.
I was also wondering in the hierarchy of potential problems, where does bodywork rust factor? I get the impression mechanical stuff is reasonably simple and structural chassis work is more complex (read: expensive )... but bodywork I'm not so sure.

Re: Budget
I'm probably trying to embark on egg-sucking tuition here but one of the most useful facilities nowadays in checking a car's true condition is https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history where you can have a look at the MoT history going back to 2006. A real give-away is where MoT failure as a result of s...

Re: Budget
Thanks for your replies. That's certainly encouraging! :D I guess I don't want perfect, as I'd like to get my hands dirty; I've serviced my own cars in the past, and I enjoy reading/watching everyone's mechanical endeavors (cut to my OH walking in on me watching youtube and asking what exactly trunn...

Budget
Hello :) I've been wanting a Minor for years, but I've only really found myself in the position to realistically be able to offer one a home after a recent house (and more importantly, garage) purchase. I was just wondering what your thoughts on what a budget of *around* £4k should get you these day...
